Chapter TwoA VISIT
“Guess what, Robyn?” Lori confided in her five-year-old sister. “He's coming over here after work.”
“Who?” Robyn had grown a whole eight months since the previous autumn when Lori met Drake. Lori was almost ten now and had a Best Friend Forever at school, but she was a lonely child. She wasn't allowed to invite her friends over, but this was different. She whispered, Mommy and Daddy must not know about this. It was her secret.
“My new friend. Drake Dumont. He's going to bring his guitar.” Lori strummed an invisible air guitar and giggled.
Robyn jumped up and down. “How do you know that?”
“I phoned him yesterday at work when Mom and Dad were at the bar.”
