“Oh my gosh, what happened there? Tell me everything, Eve.” Kiara sat me down in the room which looked like some haunted library. “You are Eve. We have been waiting for you so long” she added.
“I haven’t seen Lucifer in decades. I thought I never would.” I signed.
“Where is Adam? He must be looking for love of his life.” Luke interrupted sarcastically.
I looked to Theodor, standing away and investigating me.
“Well… Well” I stutter. “Probably.”
Kiara looked at me amazed.
“Imagine him on a beautiful fast horse riding here with a shining sharp sword ready to fight to death for you. And afterwards, he kneels in front of you, takes his helmet off and offers you a lovely red rose. And then grabs you with his strong muscular arms and leans towards your lips and…”
“Okay, okay we got you, Kiara” Luke interrupted. It seemed that Kiara’s story made him very uncomfortable. I was just glad she stopped.
"I hope one day I'll meet a guy as perfect as yours Adam" Kiara sighed and zoned out looking somewhere far away. I felt how my back began to sweat. Luke pretended his attention was completely dragged by some dusty books in a moldy shelf.
“You look nothing like the pictures” Kiara suddenly said. “But you are just as they described – like a goddess”.
“Once God finds out what happened, Eve, do you even realize what have you done?” Theodor followed me out of the library alike room.
“Let me go” I tried to get away, but he grabbed me by my shoulder. Theodor was almost all head taller than me. He forced me to face him by grabbing my chin.
“God made you for each other as perfect example of love. Now the world is left without purest form of love: yours and Adam’s. What do you think God will say about it? He will throw you down to the hell as he did to my father” he stared at my eyes all this time. I finally broke myself free.
“I don’t care!” I screamed with tears coming out of my eyes. I tried to hold them back but I couldn’t. I saw how Theodor’s anger was replaced with surprise and pity.
“Does pure love sound like being r***d every single night by your “second half”?? Do you think I want to spend eternity living like that? God has made a mistake! God is wrong!” Tears kept running down my face. “God is wrong” I sobbed. I felt how he tried to hug me but I stepped back.
“They know nothing up there! They have turned us into slaves of the Bible. The so-called holy book. They want everything to evolve how it is written but it’s wrong! I won’t be some kind of a s*x slave of my husband, I won’t!”
He opened his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. I ran through halls until I found my room and I locked the doors immediately. This castle is the heart of hell. That’s why it looked familiar.
The only thing I knew was that Lucifer is insane and I must get out of here before God finds me.
The night sky was full of stars. The moon was full and bright, but I couldn’t sleep. If I closed my eyes, the only thing I could see was Adam’s angry face and the look in his eyes when I pulled out the gun.
I tried to shake off this feeling, so I darted out of my room. The hall was decorated with white statues of some goddesses and magic creatures. I walked on the dusty carpet barefoot feeling how dirty my feet got with every step I took.
I found that forgotten library room again pretty easily. Both windows were facing the back yard of the castle. It had shaped bushes of red-wine color roses and some white bricks paths in between them. However, the garden looked as abandoned as everything else in the castle.
“Who are you spying on in here?” I heard some voice coming from the reading area. I jumped. It was only Luke.
“I could ask you the same” I answered. He was sitting on a dusty rocking chair with a glass in his hand. “Having trouble to fall asleep?” I added. He just looked at me.
“Can I ask you something?” I asked after couple of moments of awkward silence. He showed me the chair in front of him, so I sat down and took this gesture as permission to ask.
“How did you get here? You and Kiara?” Luke took a sip of dark colored liquid.
“Why I should tell you? You are a goddess I bet you can read minds or something” he said with unfriendly tone.
I shook my head. “I wish. Living would be so much easier” I sighed. “I need to get out of here. You have to help me”.
Luke laughed. “Why? Because you are special and everybody has to obey the holy p of God?”
“Fine” I stood up. I was tired of his nonsense. “You know, paradise is not even close to perfect” I said walking away.
“The forest did it”.
I stopped.
“She was here already. I was hunting and I got away from my friends. The next moment I was walking to the castle.” He emptied his glass. “The forest is cursed by god. It haunts you. If you manage to reach castle alive, you can consider yourself lucky, but I would rather die than be stuck here for eternity. Kiara avoids talking how she got here, but she had a baby.”
“Her baby is imprisoned here too?” I asked surprised. How cruel could Lucifer be? But Luke just gave me a look of pity. I skipped a breath.
“But she looks so young and pure” I couldn’t believe my ears. How she could already have gone through that.
Luke sighed. “She is the purest girl on planet. The most generous and honest person I have ever known. And the most beautiful” He whispered.
“She surely is” I said.
I looked through window. The sun was already rising, but it was different here. More of a never ending twilight.
