Chapter 16 First Position

748 Words
Concubine Lydia now stood in front of the stone stele; the rest of the concubines, princes, princesses, and other royal members stood in two rows on the square according to their ranks and identities and began to worship the heaven.   Everyone knew where to stand and how to show proper worship; no one would stand in the wrong place, let alone take a position that did not belong to them. Here, if anyone messed with the order, they would be executed! This royal matter was not trivial.   However, one person stood forward and took the first place ahead of the crowd! It was Will, the prince!   Everyone was shocked. The people wondered if he was here to cause trouble again.   "Your Highness, what are you doing?" Seeing Will, who suddenly appeared in front of him and other princes, Jonathan frowned slightly and asked.   Without turning his head back, Will said indifferently, "I'm here because this position belongs to me. Don’t you agree?"   For ten years, even before his mother's death, the second prince Jonathan left a profound impression in Will’s memory. Not to mention that when he woke up in this world, Jonathan wanted to take away Serena.   Over the years, falling into the water many times, especially since his most recent drowning, directly led to the death of the original Will. So, he reincarnated in this body. It was impossible to confirm who did all of these things. And there was no evidence to show that Jonathan did these things. However, he had a strong suspicion.   Jonathan had wanted to be the prince for many years.   "How dare you?!"   Before Jonathan could say anything, Concubine Lydia turned back and sternly scolded, "We all need to follow the hierarchy in the ceremony! Will, you violated the rules! I have to warn you. You must go to the Punishment House for it even if you are the prince."   Will chuckled when she said, "Since we must follow the order, it should be the oldest brother and not the second prince to do it. It seems that the second prince has violated the rules many times. Even I have to go to the Punishment House if violating the rules. So, my brother, please go to the Punishment House yourself after the ceremony. Don't make me remind you later."   "Will. How dare you to act so presumptuously in front of me!" Concubine Lydia coldly shouted.   Will smiled, "I am the current prince of the dynasty. Concubine Lydia, am I qualified to say it with this identity?"   Concubine Lydia's eyes became colder and colder. She didn’t expect that the prince who had been a loser for 17 years would be so manipulative.   She took a deep breath and said indifferently, "I am not going to talk nonsense with you. Will, if you dare to behave so presumptuously in this ceremony, don’t blame me for being rude to you."   Will smiled, "I am at a higher position in regard to the hierarchy. Do you want to ignore it and challenge the rules of our dynasty regulations? Or do you think you are noble enough to not care about my laws of the Cherish Dynasty?"   Even Concubine Lydia couldn’t help but step back several steps when she heard what Will said.   It used to be no big deal to look down on the prince. But it was indeed a felony to scheme and attempt to take the prince’s position.   Even if the family Concubine Lydia's mother was powerful, they would all be sentenced to death for this felony.   "Your Highness, why do you speak so aggressively?" Jonathan piped in.   Then, Will slowly turned around. "I clearly remember how you, or your men, acted aggressively towards me. I am only returning the favor. Or are you saying you can’t take it?   "It's still early. My brother, this is just the beginning!"   Jonathan frowned, "Then, I'll wait and see what you will do."   After finishing speaking, he passed Will and came to Concubine Lydia. He whispered gently, "Mother, just go and host over the ceremony!"   "But?"   "It's okay. It doesn't matter. We cannot miss the good hours."   In Jonathan's eyes, there was a trace of coldness. The prince could stand proudly before everyone and had unparalleled power. However, no random person could stand in such a position. Will was also not qualified even if he had changed a lot.   Concubine Lydia heard the other meanings in what he said and immediately chuckled. She stared at Will with anger and then turned back to get prepared to host the ceremony.   "Wait!" Will spoke abruptly.   Jonathan raised his eyebrows slightly and said, "Your Highness, I am afraid our father would blame you if you delayed the hour."
