Vince POV The interview went well, I had managed to get more information out of both the human  and vampire to Monty's dismay. It turned out Lexa rescued the human from the Smith guy and in the course of doing so, got him injured. The council would question Smith's involvement in assaulting a human and this also justified the human's response. Reverence.  It made sense that he would want to worship her. Heck, I wanted to as well. She was something out of a fairy tale. She'd been through too much and in short time and I was getting worried I wasn't doing a good job of making her feel loved. I got in the car and this time, Ovaro drove. I wanted to think some more. Something the Smith guy said had stuck. 'She also wanted his blood'. He said. That was impossible. Werewolves weren't averse to blood per se but we wouldn't go in search of it. Flesh maybe but not blood. I dismissed his statement to avoid anyone from being curious about what it meant or implied. He was going to die anyway, he reeked of decaying flesh. The scar across his face was the source of the decay and stench. That alone was proof that Lexa was very much a wolf. A strong one. I smiled. The witch side of her seems to be coming on strong too. The human had said his 'goddess' could fly. That could only mean she levitated. Ovaro made eye contact with me and said ' There's a lot we need to plan, we might have won the conversation of not pressing the investigation further. It doesn't guarantee that the council members won't find out what happened.' He was right. But i just wanted to get back to Lexa right now and hold her. Get more of those kisses she gave. I inhale her scent and just be with her.  'Let's get home and pack for the Cabin, we will come up with something during the stay there. You know I think better in the woods anyway and I could go through Dad's stuff. Maybe he faced something in his time that can help.' I said. Ovaro nodded. He didn't want to press the issue but we had bought ourselves time to plan our next move. We were headed home and I felt my wolf stir within me! Our mate is sad and scared. I panicked! 'Step on it! Something's up back at the house.' I half yelled at Ovaro. I could smell a storm and up ahead, I saw that the towers had the darkest clouds. In less than a few minutes, we got there. I sprinted and pushed past the guards who seemed to be in some sort of daze. In the heart of the garden was Lexa kneeling, her hair flying and my mother at the far end of the wind, behind a tree. Something happened during their talk and whatever it was got her upset. I saw Lexa mumbling something so I braced myself, walked up to her and touched her shoulder. She turned around, smiled and fainted. The winds stopped, I carried her bridal style and gave my mother a look that said 'we have to talk'. Through the towers, the elevator we went, we were headed for the Resident doctor's quarters. He quickly directed us to the inner facility for an examination, Lexa was burning up. Her cheeks were red. 'What's going on with her? She's burning up.' I said a little louder than I wanted. Dr. Steve already knew how tense I was so he didn't take offence. 'She'll be alright. Let's give her some space. He gestured to the waiting area. I grudgingly obliged. I didn't want to leave her but I might as well go find out what's happened in the gardens. I took the elevator up to Mother's floor. I love her, but whatever it was she did, she had no right to upset Lexa like that. Aria POV Sipping on my favourite green tea and looking out the window at the gardens now being cleaned upon by the gardeners. I thought to myself, Did I push too hard? I had hoped the questions would lead to Lexa seeing for herself how much harms her posed to Vince if she stayed with him but it ended with her breaking down. My heart broke for her, I understood how she felt, I saw a lot of her parents in her. The hot of her Father and cold of her Mother...she had every reason to be as powerful as she was. After all her Mother was a witch. The only witch friend I ever had...Trish Delovanc. I'm so sorry for treating your daughter this way, my friend. A knock on the main entrance door, brought me back to my senses. I knew it was Vince. I steeled myself for what was about to happen, he was angry and at this rate, I was becoming someone else. We never used to clash like this in the past, he's probably wondering what's gone wrong. Taking a deep breath, I opened the door and allowed him in. I tuned around and found him by the window, where I once was. I saw the worry lines underneath his eyes.  This whole ordeal was taking a toll on him. My boy. If only he knew I was trying to protect him and right now, I was wondering if I could tell him this. 'Mother. What. Is. Going. On? This isn't like you. You know something and I want to know what it is.' He said. Taking a deep breath, I motioned to the couch.  I sat down, he kept standing so I looked away. Seeing all that hurt on his face made my heart sink more. How much could I tell him? Should I even tell him? Vince cleared his throat and started to speak. 'Mother, Lexa is a special girl. You know I tell you everything and I was going to tell you this sooner or later. Lexa is a hybrid. She's part wolf and witch. That's why a lot has been happening lately but she is my mate. I love her and I will stand by her no matter what. She has been betrayed and abandoned her whole life, I will help her figure this out and I want you by my side to do this.' I closed my eyes, hadn't realized tears were running down my cheeks. He was being honest with me and now I was about to tell him half a truth.  'I know what's going on. I've always known, the day we met her I saw her eyes. But here's what you don't know. All that power is a result of a curse. Lexa is cursed and the curse affects you her mate.' 'What?!' 'What are you saying?' Vince exclaimed. 'The longer you stay around Lexa, the more affected by her curse you will be. The migraines, the black outs...they will only get worse. I know you love Lexa but son. You and Lexa CANNOT mate.' I said with tears falling uncontrollably down my cheeks. Vince stood in shock, his eyes reddened by my words. 'I don't believe you and if you are right by some joke the Moon Goddess is pulling on me. I WILL FIND A WAY!! Vince yelled as he stormed out of my apartment.
