1: "INTERNS, WELCOME TO TECHCORP HEADQUARTERS. I am Andrea Hayes, Chief Human Resources Officer and my team will be monitoring you for your final assessment test." The redheaded lady said. This was the biggest internship Techcorp offered yearly, they basically looked for four of each departmental team — Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Strategy , etc — to sign a contract with them. Each interning team consisted of almost 50 people and they were supposed to work under the close monitoring of both the hired HR team, the managers and sometimes even the COs of the company. "I will let the rest introduce themselves." Andrea continued. "Hello, everyone. I am Theo Wright, the CEO of Techcorp and welcome to the family, even if it's for a few weeks, you won't be disappointed." A mid forties or so old man said, he had a warm smile on his face - yet he seemed really panicked to Olivia from having to talk in front of all these people. How he landed the position of handling such a big company as Techcorp was a mystery to Olivia, she was good at reading people but she didn't know his potentials but anyways she didn't really care how anyone got anywhere. The rest of the upper and middle management started introducing themselves, it was too many names to put on too many faces but all she cared about were the marketing team or anyone beneficial to her. People got up from their seats after the introductions were finished and proceeded to distribute into teams based on their internship. "Hey, Hunk. Are you Chris Brown? Cause you can draw graffiti all over my body any time you want." Olivia said as she walked to the CFO of the company. Everyone within hearing range turned to look at her with a shocked expression at how bluntly she flirted with one of the upper management. "Ew, Olivia, you are my cousin." Christopher Woods told her and rolled his eyes. The shocked people recovered a bit when they knew that these two were related in a way and she was just joking. Olivia winked his way with a smirk on his face. Lara Reid stood next to the blonde Woods girl wheezing while breathing out, Olivia turned to look at her University best friend and roommate with raised eyebrows — like Lara wasn't even asthmatic to breathe this way. "Are you okay, dude?" Olivia asked her when Lara placed her hand on her chest to breathe. "Why wasn't I made aware that you had such a hot cousin?" Lara asked then leaned closer lowering her voice. "Why is everyone here so hot? Are we hot enough for the job?" Olivia rolled her eyes and walked away from her to the hall where the first training session would be. Lara followed her while pointing at everyone saying how hot they are. Olivia and Lara went into the hall a bit late, the session had already started; they managed to find a seat by the front row. "Is this seat taken? No? Thanks." Olivia told the person seated beside the empty seat and sat down without waiting for a reply. "In a matter of fact, this seat is actually taken by the manager presenting right now." The man clad in a black suit said with a fake smile. "Cool, it means it's empty until the end of the session." The blonde girl crossed her legs and pulled a notebook out of her large light pink purse to write down what the manager was saying. She focused on what was being told and wrote every single detail, she felt the eyes of the man seated beside her staring at her messy handwriting that her hand almost burned up but that didn't divert her eyes from the instructor. After the session was finished, everyone started filling out of the hall —including the hot man seated beside her— to go to the next training session which was a merged session between marketing, finance and strategy; before she would walk out, she noticed a bunch of people rushing into the hall with red roses petals in an enormous bag, helium filled letters and all the romantic bullshit. "I think I am going to skip the next session." She said to Lara. Olivia knew everything that would be told in the next session, it was the basics of the 7Ps, 4Cs and 5Is and that was all she took at school - she didn't need an extra session for that. "I will go in case they say something new." Lara replied. "Doubt it, but cool. I will see you later." Olivia said then placed her bag on one of the red cushioned chairs and went to the crowd who were filling the stage the instructor was standing earlier on with the flower petals. "Would you mind if I watched?" "No, we would appreciate the crowd." A young man said with a smile. "I am Kyle." He inched closer extending his hand for her to shake. Olivia took his warm hand in his giving it a firm shake. "I am Olivia, an intern here." "Which department?" He asked her as he threw the petals around the floor. "Marketing." The blonde girl answered and crossed her arms to her chest. "What are you, guys, doing anyways?" "Nice." He remarked about her answer. "My best friend's boyfriend is proposing to her, he asked me to help him plan the surprise and let him in since he is not an employee here, so the whole team are helping as well." "Aw, that's so sweet." Olivia said in an awe, as much as she loved to deny it, she was a sucker for romantic gestures done to those around her - not to her though. "Can I help?" She asked and received a nod in reply, she decided to pin the helium filled letters with the help of Kyle creating the sentence 'Will you marry me?' in the color rose gold. The whole proposal thing went very well, the girl named Rose —who was Kyle's best friend— agreed to the wedding and even invited Olivia to show up at the wedding. "Can I have your number? So I could tell you when the wedding is planned and all." Kyle justified a little too quickly that made Olivia on the verge of chuckling. "Sure, give me your phone." And he did, she punched her number in saving it under Olivia From Marketing with the laughing emoji and gave it back. "Text me so I could save your number." "I will. It was nice meeting you." Olivia shook his hand firmly in a joking manner. "I will see you around, I need to go before I get caught." As soon as she finished the sentence, she heard someone cough behind her; she turned around to find Chris. "Mr. Woods." Kyle started in a panicked tone of voice, they weren't supposed to get caught doing what they were doing. Chris acknowledged him with a nod but kept his focus on his shorter cousin. "What are you doing out here, Olivia?" She opened her mouth and closed it again. "Well, I could ask you the same question." "The session ended." "Exactly." Olivia dragged on the word. "You never showed up." He said in an accusatory tone. "Please don't tell dad." She gripped his hand suddenly between her own in a pleading manner. Chris started laughing. "I wasn't going to." Olivia dropped his hand then smacked him on the chest multiple times, Kyle watched the encounter between the two in confusion. "You know each other?" Kyle asked, he obviously meant out of work. "Yeah, that slenderman is my cousin." She replied and punched Chris again in the stomach that time. Kyle nodded slowly. "Well, Mr. Henderson, I will pretend I didn't see anything, just make sure to clean up and be back at the office in 20 minutes." Chris told Kyle then looked at Olivia. "And you, go to the marketing department, you are needed. Don't roam around." The Woods' male turned around and left the hall. "So you are finance?" Olivia asked. "Yeah. I didn't know you were Mr. Woods cousin." Kyle said. "Well, he is not the reason I am here. My dad kind of is." Olivia said. "Though he only helped score me an interview and I did the rest." She placed on her long gray cardigan over the white sleeveless blouse she was wearing. Kyle smiled and nodded. "You must be really talented." "Thanks. I will go now." Olivia waved at him one more time and left him to do the cleaning up with the rest of his team, along the way she met with Lara. "Your cousin asked me for you and I kind of told him where you were. Did you manage to avoid him?" Lara talked quickly like she did when she was nervous. "No, but it's cool. How was the session?" Olivia asked as they both stopped for a cup of coffee from the premises cafeteria. "Nothing we didn't know, the man seated next to you earlier gave the session. He is The Matthew Hunt." Lara said his name like he was a big deal. "Who?" Olivia asked with a head shake as the name didn't ring a bell. "The CMO." Lara said. They hadn't met the CMO earlier as he was late for the introduction session, yet from sitting next to him through a two hours long session made her realize that this man had a huge ego, from the way he sat to the way he talked to her to make her aware that the seat was taken. "Hmm." The duo took their coffee and started going to the marketing area. "Hey." The same husky egoistic voice said. The two girls stopped walking and turned around to face the manager of their manager's manager. "Olivia, right? You are Woods' cousin." Matthew Hunt said. Olivia hummed in reply. "Well, I need your help with something." He kept looking at her not acknowledging the brunette girl standing next to her. "What?" Olivia asked rather rudely. "So we are testing this new campaign and there are these flyers and banners that we were supposed to get the samples for but the company dealing with it need our reply urgently and at the same time there is no one to deliver it. I need you to drive me there to take a look." Olivia felt her eyes fall off their socket from how hard she rolled them. "I am sorry but do I look like a chauffeur to you?" "It's a task, Ms. Woods. I am testing your judgement if it's going to be good for the campaign or if we need to change something." Hunt said trying to sound intimidating that she would lose her job if she didn't go. "Whatever, man. I surely hope it's worth the drive, are you ready to go?" Olivia asked taking a sip from the coffee then tossing the half filled paper cup in the trash. "I will go get something from the office. Wait here, and you-"He said to Lara. "Go to the office." He said then turned around going to wherever his office was. "He is such a d**k, I hope he chokes on his toe nails someday." Olivia said in an annoyed tone. "Who does he think he is? I am not his chauffeur. Task, my ass." She scoffed. "Breathe, Liv. It will be okay." Lara told her with a pout. "Come as soon as possible, okay?" "Trust me, I will drive over cars to get this done with." Olivia told her with a nod. Lara waved at her and left to take the elevator to the floor where they were supposed to work, Olivia leaned against one of the walls tired of the light pink heels she was wearing and waited for the jerk that she would have to deal with as her manager, either for a couple of months or until she resigned or got arrested for killing him. She was deep in thoughts when he stood in front of her with crossed arms. "Let's go, Ms. Woods."
