Chapter 6 Honeymoon

1050 Words
Megan woke up very late the next morning, she went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and clean up. She picked up her phone and was surprised at what she saw. The news of their marriage was online, it had gone viral like wildfire. BRYAN ALBERT GOT MARRIED AGAIN. It was known that he got into a failed marriage twice. The caption underneath was after so long he had divorced his previous wife and being single, he had finally found his soulmate. Their photos online were beautiful, Megan had a gentle smile on her face while Bryan gazed down at her lovingly. She scoffed as she read the comments in the comment section. 'The look on his face says it all' 'They are made for each other' 'His wife is so beautiful' Only if they knew he didn't spend the night with his beautiful wife, not even a single message from him, she thought sadly. She was still reading the comments when a call from Isabella came in, just like she was expecting, she must have seen the news. "Girl, I just saw your replica online just now. You guys looked so much alike. She wore a beautiful wedding dress, have you seen the news?" Megan knew she couldn't believe she was the one. They've grown to become sisters, celebrating her wedding behind her back was something she couldn't believe. "I was the one, Isabella," she replied dejectedly. She began explaining how it all happened without missing a thing, she further explained how he left her on their wedding night till this morning. "He's still not back yet?" Isabella asked as they've been talking for too long now. "No, and I really don't care about it," "Why wouldn't you? He's your husband, my love, try to amend things between yourselves," she advised. "You just don't know him. He is rude and arrogant, he was spatting out words as if he knew me before. He might have had a bad relationships with other women, that doesn't mean we're all the same," "Saying it is not as effective as proving it. Make him believe that you are different from your actions," Megan sighed softly, she was racking her brain on how to make things better between them. Afterwards, they are bound together. "Are you there?" Isabella's voice cut off her thoughts, "Yeah, I hear you," "Don't feel sad. You've made a big sacrifice to help your family, and I'm proud of you," Megan smiled as her heart felt lighter, the conversation they'd had helped her calm down a bit. "Can you help me hang up from your side? Atlas is calling," "No problem, take care baby girl," Isabella said and hung up afterwards. "Sis, good morning," came the boring tone of Atlas. "Is that how you greet your sister who just got married?" She tried to make her voice sound exciting, she doesn't want to make her brother worry. "You don't have to pretend to be excited. I can read you from your expressions yesterday. I saw how you were faking smiles and.." "Can I call you back?" She interrupted, she heard a knock on the door. "You're trying to avoid me?" " Of course not, silly. I'll call you back," she hung up immediately. " Yes, come in," "Good morning, miss," four maids entered, and they greeted her with a bow. She felt embarrassed as she was not used to it. "Morning," she responded, waiting for them to start explaining their presence. "Sir asked us to dress you up. You are to meet his parents today at airport before leaving for your honeymoon," She might have been listening to them from the onset, but when she heard the word 'honeymoon' she gasped inwardly. First, she doesn't have any clothes to wear as they would be spotted by the cameras. His parents, what would they think of her? She was in her own world, thinking about the situation. The maids exchanged glances between themselves, they were waiting for her reply. She glanced up and saw their expression, she gave an awkward smile before she stood up and the maids got to work. She told them not to add too much makeup on her face. Two maids were arranging some clothes inside a traveling box. 'That's not mine' she thought inwardly, looking at the maids from the mirror. She was later told that Bryan instructed them not to pack any of her clothes apart from the new ones he bought, he wanted her to look presentable to his parents. At the wedding, they didn't have much time to see her, so they suggested they meet at the airport to have a chat with her. Megan stepped out of the house, she met with the man that drove her last night. He bowed when he saw her coming out. 'What's with them bowing?' she thought inwardly. He looks much older than her for him to bow before her. "Morning, you don't have to bow to me," she smiled warmly and entered the car. The ride was peaceful, she sat at the backseat, her eyes fixed on the scenery passing by outside the window. She watched the trees and buildings whizz by as the car moved through the city streets. Her mind wandered, and she found herself lost in thought, reflecting on her life and the events that had led her to this moment. The breeze from the open window ruffled her hair, and she closed her eyes for a moment, savoring the feeling. As she got out of the car, a man in a uniform approached her, his hand extended in greeting. "Mrs. Albert? I'm here to escort you to the plane," he said. She frozed, the name. For a moment, she forgot that she was married. She took his hand and followed behind him. She felt a mix of nervousness and anxiety flush through veins, as they were going, an old man who was tall and handsome, with a distinguished air about him. The woman was beautiful, with a warm and welcoming smile. They introduced themselves to be Bryan's parents. "Welcome to our home, child," the old lady said, she felt a sense of trepidation, but also a glimmer of hope. She smiled at the two parents as they kept complimenting her.
