Chapter 11“Kel, I’d like you to meet Mary and George Young.” It was two days after the meeting with Mr. Abernathy and Tom had done as he’d promised, talked to the three families he thought might be willing to be guardians for Kel. One hadn’t been interested, the second was but with reservations. The Youngs had endorsed the idea enthusiastically. Now Kel looked shyly at the middle-aged couple. Mary Young was maybe five-five, Kel thought, and a bit plump but not fat. She had black hair, sparkling dark brown eyes, and an infectious smile. Her husband was about as tall as Terry, rail-thin and blond.
