Chapter 12The Youngs duly filed the papers needed to become Kel’s guardians. Then they invited him, and the rest of the group, as well as Tom and his family, to come to their home for a visit. The house was set on an acre of land with a large open-space park just to the south of it. Two stories high, the house had decks along the front and back sides, with views of the mountains off in the distance. There were five bedrooms, four of them vacant at the moment as the Youngs’ children were no longer living at home. After showing everyone around, George took them into the back yard.
