Chapter 40 Back To Work
Millicent's POV BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! My annoying loud alarm blares, successfully annoying me, just as easily as it wakes me up. I hate the sound of this alarm but it works at waking me up... Not much else can do that... So I stick to what works no matter how much my day starts, slightly sour because of it. I groaned as I sat up out of bed, barely being able to open my eyes... I have, of course, recovered from the hangover and not eating much yesterday. But exactly those reasons are why I am so drowsy today, feeling as if I didn't even get any sleep even though I know I did... But I stayed up for a while, looking over the cards and jewelry box, just hoping a clue would pop out at me to figure out where to go from here.. but apparently that was too much to ask.
