Here We Go
“Shh," A masked girl says as she walks up a flight of stairs. Behind her are four other masked people. With each step, they slow down. The stairs are making subtle creaks. Being in a silent building though, the creaks sound like crashing wood.
Once the group reaches the top, they split up. The girl, who is the leader, heads off on her own. She moves to a higher location and reaches in her bag. A headset and a small pair of binoculars are set out. She puts the headset on and clicks a red button on the side.
"Can you all hear me?" she whispers as she picks up the binoculars. Once she gets them focused, she stops and watches.
"I can hear you," A male voice says.
"Me too."
"Me three."
"I can also hear you."
"Good," The girl says.
Looking through the binoculars again she sees a few people. They are all looking towards a door. It seems as if they are waiting for someone to come through them. There is a phone sitting on a bench next to the group of people.
"Jack?" The girl says.
"Yeah?"
"There's a phone on a bench near the group. Hack into it so I can hear what they are saying."
"Got it."
Within seconds, the group's voices are audible.
"How are we going to get this done if he's not even here yet?" One voice says.
"Relax. He will be here," A voice familiar to the girl states.
Just then the metal doors open. A man enters followed by at least thirty people. No wait. They are more like creatures. They look like people, but you can tell they aren't. Their eyes are a shiny, metallic color and their skin is sparkling.
"Sorry I'm late," The man starts. "My new friends here, just couldn't seem to function properly."
The creatures turn their heads and face the group. There is a clapping sound. The binoculars move back towards the group. One of the men steps forward and is clapping. He has a smirk on his face.
"Great entrance. Should we do another? Maybe this time have your "friends" march?" The guy suggests.
The man's eyes narrow. His creations turn their heads and peer at the guy. "You are lucky you're my nephew."
"So lucky."
There is a crashing sound in the distance. All the eyes move to look.
"Someone's here. Grab that phone and use it to turn on the lights!" The man orders.
The girl drops her binoculars and stands up slowly. She picks up her metal bow and with one hand reaches back. She pulls an arrow out and places it on the bow. After lining it up with the phone, she pauses.
"Here we go," she says to the group.
She releases the arrow. It soars through the air like a rocket. A man reaches for the phone. The arrow pierces through the man's hand and shatters the phone. Sparks start flying as blood runs out of his hand. The man cries out in pain as he pulls on the arrow.
"Begin the attack. But try not to be seen," The girl says.
"The creatures are coming right at us Meghan. They already see us."
"Then take them out."
Meghan moves to another side and waits. The creatures move around the room. They start to go to the stairs. Meghan lifts her bow and aims. A figure comes from the other side and slams her into the wall.
On the other side of the building, another part of the team gets ready. They see the creatures and head forward. One of the guys pulls out a knife. The other pulls out two guns. With one in each hand, he starts to fire.
The creatures do not go down very easily. It takes multiple shots. The guy with the knives stabs the creatures in the side of the neck. They fall to the ground but continue to crawl after him. Blood is dripping from the creatures, but they do not stop. The guy picks up more knives and starts to throw them. Aiming for the heads, they start to go down.
Another part of the building lights up with a small explosion. Arrows follow the explosion while creature’s bodies fly. Behind the fire, there are two figures. One has a bow and the other grabs a gun. Arrows and bullets start to fly again. One by one the creatures start to fall. The man that created them, starts to yell. He is fuming with anger.
Meghan is still pinned to the wall by someone. She watches as the creatures get closer to her. She struggles and finally breaks free. The guy laughs as she pulls out a gun from the back of her belt.
"You're a girl. You wouldn't really shoot me," The man mocks.
"Oh," Meghan points the gun at him. "I would."
A shot is fired, and the man drops. Meghan steps forward and looks. The man holds onto his arm tightly. He scoots backwards and leans against a wall.
"You'll be fine. It went right through."
The creatures move closer, and Meghan grabs a bar above her. She pulls herself up and swings her legs over into a sitting position. Reaching behind her, she grabs a larger arrow. She clicks a button on the side of it and throws it. The arrow lands right in front of the creatures. They pause and look down at it. A purple light comes from the arrow and blocks their path. One steps forward and the purple line is forced down followed by a loud crumbling sound.
The walkway falls with the creatures crashing down. Meghan smiles to herself and climbs up to a dark ledge. She reaches in her bag and grabs a flashlight. Once the flashlight is on Meghan jumps. There is a guy standing against the wall. He has his arms crossed and a smirk on his face.
"What are you doing here Meghan?" The guy asks.
Meghan narrows her eyes. "You don't know me."
"You can pretend that with the mask, I don't. But you know I do," He takes a step forward.
"Whatever," Meghan says as she tries to step around him.
The guy blocks her path by holding his arm up and placing his hand against the wall next to her. She stops and looks at him. He then places his other hand on the other side of her head, trapping her. Meghan sighs in annoyance at him.
"Will you move?" She asks.
"Not until you admit I know you," He pauses and leans closer. "And you know me."
Meghan can feel his breath on her skin. She shivers a bit as he moves his head back away from her.
"Fine. You do know me. Can I go now?"
He chuckles as he stops blocking her way. Meghan gives him a look and starts to walk away. The guy follows her. Once he is next to her, she quickens her pace. Meghan reaches an open window and steps in it.
"Bye Skylar."
She jumps out and lands on another ledge. She continues to jump till she reaches the ground. The rest of the group is waiting for her.
"Where were you?" One asks.
"Nowhere," Faint sounds of police cars come towards them. "Let's get out of here.
