Cole's POV
Zara had my whiteboard out when I arrived.
She had drawn a timeline across the top and three columns below it labeled Victor, Board, and Us. Under Victor's column she had listed everything Daniel confirmed he had. Under Board she had written question marks. Under Us she had written one word: Control.
"Daniel says Victor needs proof that I proposed the contract marriage," she said without preamble. "He needs evidence showing I engineered the arrangement to trap you using the pregnancy as leverage. Without that, his narrative is incomplete. The board might question your judgment but they won't remove you for protecting an employee who was genuinely vulnerable."
I studied the board. "So you're going to give him that evidence."
