Chapter 16 “So now that we aren’t at school, I gotta know what happened to you today?” Rachel had spread her history book and notebook across my bed, but she wasn’t working on the terms. She was lying on her back, scrolling on the phone in front of her face. I, on the other hand, was flipping pages in my history book searching for the next definition on the list. “You could help, you know. We need to get these done if you want to go to that football game,” I said, trying to deflect her question. I usually shared everything with Rachel. She was my only friend, but the last few days had been too much. I didn’t know if was ready to have my BFF look at me like I was nuts.
