A trace of pain flashed through Jacob's eyes, but it was gone as fast as it was seen. “That's okay,” He said, recovering himself from what just happened between us. Blood rushed to my cheeks and I fidgeted with my fingers in sheer embarrassment. “J-Jacob, I'm sorry. I really didn't mean-” “I don't need to hear anything, Jocelyn. I'll wait until you want to just remember that I'm supposed to have an heir in less than a year. I can't wait forever.” His words pierced me, cut through me and buried themselves somewhere inside of me. I had forgotten that little detail that included me birthing him a child. “Yes Sir,” I choked out, not wanting to look at him, fearing the expression he would wear on his face. “I have told you not to call me Sir,” He corrected, irritation clear in his tone.
