I dressed in a small blue gown decorated with little white daisies scattered in a pattern all over the dress. My hair was styled in a low bun and I finished the look with bright red lipstick to add some life to my face. Quickly, I put on my black flats and made my way to the living room. Jacob leisurely sat on the couch with his head laid back and his legs crossed. He spared me a glance before returning his attention to the wine glass he had in his hand. “You’re ready. Good,” he said when I sat by his side. He took out a contract and placed it on my lap. “I want you to sign it.” With my curiosity piqued, I scanned through the pages of the document.
