3 Debbie lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. She flopped over and looked at her phone for the fiftieth time. Six o’clock. Bob wouldn’t be by to pick her up until eight, but she might as well get up. It wasn’t like she was going to get any sleep. She made herself a cup of coffee, then busied herself with double-checking her suitcase. Debbie checked her phone again. Six-thirty. Ugh. She still had an hour and a half to kill. After making scrambled eggs and toast, she realized she still wore her rocket ship pajamas. She wanted to be comfortable for the road trip, but traveling with other people was different than traveling by herself. And traveling with Bob was a different thing entirely.
