Chapter 6: God Doesn't Want Me Either

227 Words
AIDEN There are days you remember for the rest of your life—not because something incredible happened, but because they felt borrowed. Like they were never yours to begin with, but the universe loaned them to you anyway, gently, hesitantly, as if unsure you'd treat them with care. This day, this morning with Kai is one of them. The motor lodge we stayed at wasn't anything fancy. The white paint on the walls was chipped in some corners, and the water heater made a sound like it was struggling to survive. Still, when we walked back into the room, towels slung over our shoulders, both half-laughing from Kai's terrible imitation of a British accent he randomly decided to try out mid-conversation, it didn't feel like just a room anymore. It felt like somewhere safe. "I've decided," Kai said, throwing himself onto the bed with a dramatic thud. "When I become filthy rich, which I will, by the way—I'm going to own a private beach. And it'll have a cabin with a view like last night." ...... Kai and Aiden are returning to another storytelling site (watty, you know the orange one). LOL After 5 years, I finally got to continue this. Yes, it's been that long. I will also be changing its title to "We Named the Days Ours". See you on watty. @El_Mira9x
