Bella's POV That day after classes I came back home awfully tired. My first day at university wasn't boring even for a bit. All thanks to Jake and Helena. Time goes by so quickly with them that even I fail to notice it. I could see the positive changes in me. It was a companionship I was looking forward to. Especially Jake… I found a remarkable friend in him. Someone who's both caring yet playful. And Helena…More than a friend she was like an elder sister. I never want that day to come where I doubt them and their friendship. However, I still didn't wanna be a blind follower of someone either. My past is too eventful to disregard someone's evil gazes. The guilt I bore inside was heavier was than any connection. The pain of losing a friend is real. Whether he or she was good or bad, honest or a deceiver, if you adored them for real then yeah it hurts. You can't just turn over a page and skip it. But surely over time, the pain fades and so does the restlessness. Yet the memories stay alive in the deepest corner of the heart. It's a part of us. We need to learn how to go forward along with this bitterness in our hearts. Surely Becky's sudden death did anguish me slowly and my selfish lies which saved her killer kill me every day. But as days passed I only wanted forgiveness more than punishment for me in future. I only wanted to spend the rest of my life peacefully. But I guess fate wasn't intending to give me that anytime promptly. The next day on the bus, I didn't see Rex going with us to the university. Helena seemed to have every detail about him. She said that he usually drives his car to the University. Yet that day was the first time when she saw him going to the university on a bus with them. The classes were going great even though it was just the second day. All the professors appeared very friendly and caring. I was lucky enough to make two new friends, Tara and Swetha. Both of them were super friendly and very pretty. Tara's dark brown eyes were so attractive, just like a drop of black coffee in a white cloud. Her curly hair made her appearance most unique in the whole class. She was more like the lively one. The heart of the gang. Cheerful and caring. On the other hand, Swetha was more like the timid one. A kind girl with the sweetest voice I ever heard. She told us she used to learn classical music in her school days. Her long, dark ebony hair was just like a suited her face a lot. It surprised me how we became such good friends in a short time. But most importantly maybe because we all were from different countries so we knew the struggle to mix up with other natives, who were definitely the majority. Later on, in the last period, we had to go to the senior section for our class with the senior students. The students were divided into two parts. I was happy with the fact that Tara and Swetha were with me. They also introduced me to two new girls, Samantha and Ivy. They both seemed more like gossip girls but very cheerful. It was a great feeling to get all the positive vibes from them. I almost forgot the pain that I kept feeling for losing Becky. Meanwhile, a lady entered our class, I guessed she was our professor of the social class with the seniors. She appeared very elegant and trendy. The red coat and black skirt that she wore, matching with her white pearl necklace was one hell of a combo. She looked like around the age of forty but seemed very young at heart. She cleared her throat slightly to catch everyone's attention and then introduced herself in front of the whole class. "It's very nice to see all these new faces today. Welcome to the senior section!" Everyone started whispering as she continued, "I'm Miss Gabriel, you may call me by that name. This is the first time we decided to take one class where juniors and seniors will be together. Please keep in mind to behave yourself and consider yourself lucky as you are getting this valuable chance to gain knowledge. Alongside with the chance to improve your social skills of communicating." Ivy was sitting beside me, she winced at me being bored of hearing Miss Gabriel's lecture. I replied Ivy smiling a confused smile as Miss Gabriel continued, "I hope all of you understood my point. Best of luck to you." As soon as Miss Gabriel finished, I saw students entering our classroom. I guessed all of them were probably seniors because Rex was also with them. The moment Rex entered, I could hear the girls talking within themselves about him as expected. Ivy and Samantha were so happy that I didn't even need to look at them to understand that because they almost screamed when he arrived. There were other seniors too so I was searching for Helena among them but unfortunately I didn't see her. There were few seats reserved for the seniors, they sat there. Miss Gabriel said we will have to work in a pair with the seniors as we will be given different kinds of assignments. I really needed Helena here with me because like every other story I didn't wanna sit beside the most famous guy in the class who was none other than Rex. It will be just…Unexpected... Miss Gabriel said that our partners will be selected by picking a coupon where there will be roll numbers of the seniors. This seemed a little bit childish to me as we were university students but we were following the rules of the preliminary school. I was sitting on the second bench of the second row. So soon it was my turn to pick up a coupon. As I walked slowly to get a coupon my eyes unwillingly looked at Rex and my heart skipped a beat because I saw that he was looking at me too. I quickly looked away and concentrated on Miss Gabriel. Rex still didn't find his partner but I was hoping it was not me. "So are you scared?" Miss Gabriel said looking at me keeping her round glasses at the peek of her nose. "No ma'am. I'm fine, thank you," I tried to make myself believe as well, hiding my real hesitations. As I was picking up the coupon I really felt weird without any reason. I picked one and gave it to Miss Gabriel without even seeing the number on it. Miss Gabriel smiled. She notified me he is sitting on the third-row fifth bench and asked me to go and sit beside him. As I turned to look for my partner I saw that Rex was actually sitting on the third row. He was looking at me directly this time, with bitterness in his eyes. I peeked at him for once and started counting the benches. It seemed like he was just holding himself back from attacking me or something. But I had no idea why he was so angry at me. There wasn't any reason either. I was dumbfounded by him completely. Looking down I reached the fifth bench and to my greatest surprise, I stopped just before Rex's bench. Before I could introduce myself to my partner, he hugged me tightly. I was utterly surprised I didn't know what to say. "Heyyyyy!!! I'm so happy to meet you. What is your name? I guess you are still scared huh? Don't worry. Well I'm your protector now. You are my responsibility," I had to look up to see the tall and huge person standing in front of me. He was a guy with a hard built figure and brown hair. His dark eyes were emitting the most positive vibes which was a sight to watch. Before I could open my mouth to say my name he hugged me again. "I already like you. You are great," He said smiling, showing me all the teeth he had. I couldn't help but laugh at his innocent behaviour. "Hahaha! Believe me, you are awesome as well. Nice to meet you," Rex flinched looking at me as I replied, breaking the pencil he was playing with between his fingers. I was already hearing gossips behind me. I sat beside the new guy, smiling, being happy that my partner wasn't Rex after all. I didn't know the reason for Rex's anger but it seemed he wasn't happy seeing me and him together. I got to know that my partner's name was Joshua. He was the captain of the football team and a very happy person. He reminded me of Josh from school but he was a better version than him. Later on, I told Joshua my name and got to know more about each other. He smiled all day long and made me laugh by cracking his funny jokes. The first class was just an introduction day. We weren't given any tasks. I didn't see Rex after the partner selection process ended. Ivy became Rex's partner. She was so happy I could see it in her face but Rex....he was looking weird, not angry or upset, rather emotionless, without any facial reaction he left the class afterwards. After the class ended I went to put my books in the locker. Joshua had practice so he couldn't see me off. I didn't have my after class library duty that day so I decided to walk home because I knew the bus already left for that day. After all, this special class with seniors was after school period. I got a text from Helena that she can't go home with me as she got engaged in club work. I texted her back that it was completely fine and I can go home by myself. The sky looked dark like it was gonna rain soon. But I didn't bring an umbrella with me because it was not rainy in the morning at all. I decided to walk fast and reach home before it started raining. The road was almost empty except for a few people here and there. I started walking fast. Suddenly my phone beeped again. I expected it to be Helena but it wasn't! The text was from an unknown number- "You should have brought an umbrella with you..." My heart skipped a beat as I read the message. I knew there were fewer reasons to be scared. This could be anyone Swetha, Tara or Samatha maybe. I did give them my phone number. Still, I was a bit nervous. I didn't wish for the nightmare to come back to me again. I wondered who texted me. Is it Ben? No, not again... I decided to ignore the message. If this is one of my new friends from class, she can talk to me tomorrow. The number started with England's country code. So the person is possibly in England.
