There are still important things that I need to ask Nico, but for now, I am more curious about what is happening to him.

"Nico, where are you right now? Are you playing with some random woman again for you to have a heavy breath? What a jerk!" I chuckled after teasing him.

I still lower my voice while looking around me from time to time. I need not lower my guard, especially since I know that Ivory could appear in front of me any minute.

I heard another silence in response to another line. I didn't speak again because I am trying to understand his real situation even without his information right now.

After a minute, I finally received a response from Nico, and this time, he sounds like he has trouble speaking normally.

"You don't have to know where I am right now. One thing is for sure, bro. I am having my fun time, so if you excuse me, contact me again some other time."

"Wait!" I shouted before he could actually lose the connection to me again.

I took a deep breath and clinched my fist. Damn! I forgot that I am in the park right now and I should not make a loud noise.

Great. Now, all the people, shapeshifters, or whatever here are finally looking in my direction.

No one knows how much embarrassment I feel right now because I am shouting without someone sitting next to me. I look like someone who likes to talk with herself because she's bored or not in her right mind anymore. Tsk!

"Wait, Nico. I have some important things that I want you to do over there."

"What is it? Make it quick."

My eyes furrowed when I heard his voice. He really doesn't want to be disturbed by me. Just who the hell is he playing with right now? I could not help but slightly laugh while thinking about it.

"I want you to get some information about the female lycan that I've met."

"Damn, Clayton! You're actually wasting my time by asking a—"

"No, Nico. My reason is not all about my interest in this woman. I think there's something strange and information that she's hiding, and that information is not just ordinary information. It is related to my family and to the past pack leader of our clan," I stated.

I heard a long silence after explaining those things to Nico. I heard a strange noise coming from him, and this time, that noise sounded like scratching or something like that.

My eyebrows met with curiosity. What is that? Did I hear it wrong?

"Who is she?"

Finally, I heard another word coming from my friend. I thought he left me to do something strange. What exactly is he doing right now?

"I don't think you heard her name before. She is Ivory Tacel. She is a female lycan, but I don't know what kind of hybrid she is. I don't have any idea about her ability either since I didn't see it yet. However, I kind of had a glance at her physical appearance before when she suddenly had a heat cycle. Her eyes suddenly became white, but they changed back after a second, so I don't know if I was just seeing things or not." I took a deep breath before standing up.

I notice that a lot of people are staring in my direction now. Maybe it's because of what happened earlier. It's better to walk back to Ivory's house before they can master the courage to finally talk to me and ask me a lot of questions. Tss.

While walking back to Ivory's house, I speak again when I receive no reply from Nico.

"Please let me know if you find out any information about her. I will call you again after a week." I was about to end the line between us when Nico suddenly spoke from the other line.

"Wait. Why are you so curious about her again?"

I could not help but smile when I heard Nico's question. Right. I forgot to tell him about the most important thing right now.

"Nico, I found her."

"What?" I heard a loud noise coming from his side, but I didn't bother to ask him what it was.

I just tried to talk again for the second time. Anyway, I am still walking, but I am almost at Ivory's house.

"I mean, the woman who could cure my headaches. Ivory and I mated before, and I didn't have trouble sleeping with her. I—" I stopped talking when I heard a loud bang from Nico's side.

After that loud noise, he suddenly dropped out of contact. I could not help but feel annoyed because of him. Whatever! I already told him all the things that I needed to tell him. I just need to wait another week before I can contact him again in order to hear the information about Ivory Tacel.

Now that Nico's gone, I'm more curious about the real reason for his actions right now. There is definitely something going on over there right now, but I have no idea what it is.

It's fine. Even if there is really something dangerous going on over there, I know for sure that my friend wouldn't die easily. If I am living in this world for a long time, what's more for him?

When I finally arrived inside the house of Ivory, I felt like I had done thousands of hours of work today, even if just a few hours had passed since Ivory left.

I could not help but sit immediately on the couch and let myself lie over there. I closed my eyes and waited for Ivory to arrive.

I have no idea what kind of job Ivory has, but I think it is related to the bar that I went to when we first met each other. She has been drinking liquor over there before, but she is wearing the same uniform as the staff that works at that bar. I just didn't want to disturb her, even if I had an idea where she was. It is not like I want to be with her twenty-four hours a day.
