A Future Girl in a Past Life

Darci's Decision

 Jack and Henry finally found me and because I was doubled over in pain and screaming my head off the girls were frozen, but Jared ran up and tried to help me before Jack and Henry got to me. Henry then got up and confronted the girls that were still frozen in fear. "What do you think you're doing?" The girls didn't say anything in fact they started to walk away in fear, Jack snapped me out of my trance once he hugged me. I gently pushed him back not to get off me, I liked the hug it made me feel safe. He knew that all I wanted to do was get up and I am glad he could tell the difference between the two I didn't want to push him away. But I did want to get up out of the dirt and sticks that were digging into my skin. Jack held out his hand to help me up and asked. "What happened to you? Why were you on the ground?" I looked up into his eyes that were usually very bright, were now darkened with worry. "I was taken by those three girls, they were upset that I was getting some attention from Henry. So, they thought that they could get me to do things to Jared that was totally fooled into coming here. He thought that I had invited him out here for a secret meeting to get to know each other." I looked at the girls and Jared, all of them were surprised at what I was saying more on the girls because they knew what Jared wanted to do with me and they knew that he would've gone through with it if Jack and Henry wouldn't have showed up. I continued "I don't thing that any of them should get punished if that is a ting here I just want to go camp and I would love to just go to bed I had another flashback to that terrible time and I just want to go to bed and sleep like the dead and forget this night ever happened." I looked up at Jack, he breathed a sigh of relief. He gestured for Henry to take me back to camp. Henry asked if could hold me up and I agreed so that I could get back and get to sleep faster. Jack had asked the girls and Jared to stay back and talk to them so he can get their side of the story and if all of them were smart then they would just tell him what I just said but a little bit of their own twist on it. I really hope that they are that smart, but I don't know what they would be thinking, but I know that those girls would be stupid if they just come out and told them the truth. Jared probably just be kicked out and ordered to never return, but why did I make it seem like he was somehow a victim as well. I mean there was no reason for me to do that and I know that his intention with me was to have his way with me and then maybe throw me away or even worse to actually keep me and make me his forever. With that last thought I shuddered as we were nearing the camp Henry noticed and he tried to get closer an I let him. For a brief moment I felt safe and then Henry just had to open his mouth. "So, did that really happen? Or did you just say that because you don't think we would really believe you?" I looked at him for a long moment then I looked away. "Everything I said was at least the half truth I didn't want to cause more trouble than I have already. I beg you, please don't push me for me to give you an answer, I will be obligated to tell you another lie and I really don't want to lie to you more that that story." Henry looked me up and down then back up to my eyes, that were now facing him, and his beautiful blue eyes were now deep pools of worry. "Don't worry, I will not even think bout going to interact with them unless necessary. I promise." I said and looked down to find my heart, and I crossed it then I looked back up to his eyes. He then let out a low chuckle, I was shocked and let a small chuckle of my own out. Henry looked down at me one more time before we went back to my carriage and once inside I felt safe maybe because I had Henry next to me the  whole time. Now that I was settled he got up and tried to leave but I stopped him by clutching onto his sleeve as he was about to leave the carriage. He sharply turned to me and I let go and retreated to a corner and tried to shrink into myself as I started to pull my knees into my chest Henry looked at me with some worry in his eyes as they did just a little bit ago. He took my hand into his "Do you want me to stay in here tonight just in case?" he asked all I do is nod and then laid back down and he laid down next to me with my hand still in his. I felt his heat radiating from his body and it slowly lulled me off to much needed sleep and then before I knew it, it was morning. I was cuddling into his chest his masculine scent invades my nose I would have been happy if the first thing on my mind wouldn't have been last night and what happened then the strongest flashback came flooding back to my mind and without warning I was groaning in pain rolling over and clutching my stomach in excruciating pain. Henry felt the movement but as he went to reach to help all I saw was the man trying to grab me and I let out a high pitch scream soon I blacked out. The next thing I know I flutter my eyes open and I was Henry on one side of me and Jenny and Jack on the other then the snake Jared was at my feet. I glared at him before I reached out my hand to Henry and trying to sit up Henry felt the slight graze of my hand and reacted right away by grabbing it. "Hey little firecracker, you're awake? Are you okay now? I was so frightened." I looked toward all of them and then I went to retreat into Henry once I saw Jared try to come closer, I then remembered the story I told Jack. I couldn't react that way, I have to show that we don't mean anything to each other. I straightened my back and Jared waltzed up to me and took my hand into his and tried to give me a kiss on the hand luckily Henry knew my true feeling of Jared so he quickly pulled me away and the I landed on Henry's hard chest. I didn't mean to linger longer then needed but Henry refused to let me go until he was okay with the distance that was between Jared and myself. "So, when will you I get to talk to you, alone?" Jared asked a little bit of hurt in his eyes, I felt a little bad for him but not bad enough that I would suddenly trust him enough to be alone with him. I looked to Jenny, then to Jack and then my start lingered a little too long on Henry. I nodded for them to leave after a little bit of fighting with Henry's eyes they all got up and walked out. "I will be right outside the tarp yell if you need me." Henry told me before glaring at Jared and hopping out of the carriage. When I looked back to Jared, he was close to me on my left side. The only thing that was helping was the fact that I knew if I yelled Henry would be in here in a matter of seconds if I yelled. That gave me enough courage to speak to Jared alone. "So, you like me enough to lie for me but not enough to be with me is that it?" I looked at him in shock and I stared at him with wide eyes and he just stared right back into my eyes, I just couldn't break eyes contact with him. I don't know what drew me forward but this man is not 100% sane. I just knew that if I backed down I would not be able to look anyone in the eye and this creep would win and I can't let that happen. "I don't think I like you the way you think. I think that if we put this whole incident behind us then we may become the best of friends." I looked deeper into his eyes then for some reason I gave him a reassuring smile and he gave me a sad smile. I reach my hand out to take his in mine, he saw that small gesture and I think he took it a little bit in the wrong way but I may be here for years. And I thinks this will not be the last time that I interact with him and a situation like last night will repeat itself. He then abruptly stood up and started to walk out of the carriage, just before he was going to leave and I thought that I was in the clear for a little bit he looked over his shoulder and spoke "I think that once you get to know me you will see that not only I am the right person for you, you will also see that you should've just became mine when we had the chance. I will show you that I am the right person for you and that we belong together." after that was said he left and Henry walked in and rushed to my side.
