I was pacing up and down, outside the doors of the clinic. Jason was sitting on a cut-off stump. His elbows were propped up on his knees and his chin rested on his interlocked hands. He seemed strangely calm.
I, on the other hand, was going out of my mind with worry. As soon as we arrived back at the compound, Alice rushed Shaun and Amanda to the clinic, where her daughter was already waiting, and asked Jason and I to wait outside. They've been in there for hours, and still no news.
It was driving me crazy. I don't know what I'd do if I lost either one of them. Amanda was like a sister to me, and I loved Shaun with all my heart.
