Emma's POV. I became aware of voices talking in hushed tones. I opened my eyes, and looked around. My nose hurt like hell, and felt twice as big as usual. It must be broken. I could see Joseph's car standing to my right, and the shelves with boxes, and tools in front of it. I was in our garage. I lifted my head a few inches, with great difficulty. Manfrid was standing a few feet in front of me with his back turned. In front of him, Joseph was sitting in a chair, his face was covered in blood, and looked severely beaten.
