Elena's POV-
Who was he? Where did he come from? Why couldn't I stop thinking about him?
Those where the questions that swarmed my mind when I was hunting; when I was cooking; when I was talking to Ember. Although, all of this was her fault: she would not shut up about him.
It was driving me crazy. I needed to escape these thoughts or they would consume me- to the point where if he ever came back I would have to keep him.
Okay. Enough get your head in the game Elena. Now, what do I need to do today...
I know, I need to chop so more firewood for tonight: my gut is telling me it's going to be a cold one tonight.
I threw on a pair of black jeans, a white t-shirt, and a black and white plaid overshirt, to set off on my hunt, for wood to chop.
As I was walking through the woods, that I have called home for the past 17 years, I couldn't help but let my thoughts drift back to the mysterious guy that I had run from yesterday morning
How did he do that? How did he touch me and not get blown into tiny little pieces?
"Ugh!" I groaned
Why me? I mean why did I have to be the one to go through this? If I could change it I defiantly would have by now
"What are you grumbling about now?" Ember said, in the least sympathetic tone ever.
"Do you know who he was Ember?"
"Maybe, even if I did I wouldn't tell you."
"What, why?" I asked the uncompliant wolf in my head, Goddess she can be annoying.
"Because..."
"Because what Ember?" I was getting annoyed so I abruptly stopped what I was doing to listen to her answer the question.
"You wouldn't believe me, that's why!"
"Just tell me, okay I promise I'll listen till you've finished before saying anything,"
"Okay..." Oh for heaven's sake, what is with the long pauses just tell me already, this was starting to get painful, really painful.
"I just think that maybe the reason he could talk to you and touch you was that you were his mate."
Suddenly, a noise that I wasn't even sure I could make ran through me. Sending shivers down my spine and I'm pretty sure Ember's too, we share the same body, so defiantly Ember's too. This sound was accompanied by a not so friendly and more mad sounding,
"WHAT!"
P.S This is my first book so thank you for patience.
