Madeline’s pov
“Hunter?” Relief spread through me as I saw him. He had his back turned to me but when he heard my voice, he turned to me.
“What are you doing here?” I questioned as he approached me with a small smile playing on his lips.
“I brought lunch,” He held up the paper bag I hadn’t noticed before.
“You came all the way here to bring me lunch?” I quirked a brow at him and he shrugged as he walked towards an empty chair in the backyard and I followed his lead.
“The house felt quiet without you and I wanted to see what you were up to,” He explained as he handed me my burger.
I bit into the burger and let out a long sigh at how good it was. I hadn’t realized just how hungry I was until now.
