Torn between emotions

What is life without the risk of taking a bullet for someone you love? A hard question. My life was simple, maybe not perfect but simple, but now?... She kept going in and out of consciousness as she laid on the stretcher being pushed by medical attendants she could hardly recognize or see their faces, because her vision was now blur and her eyes were getting heavier by every passing second. Bleeding profusely, she was quickly rushed into the surgical ward. He staggered helplessly against the wall with his blood-stained shirt and tears threatening to fall from his eyes but he fought them back. At that moment he sighted his sister running towards his direction with panting words flying out of her mouth but the only thing reverberating in his head was the gunshot that pierced through her. He threw himself into her arms before she even got to him and started sobbing uncontrollably. After minutes of waiting, the doctor came out of the ward and he hastily turned to look at him questionly. "Is she going to be fine?" "I don't know. She lost a lot of blood." The doctor sighed drastically like he did not want them to have their hopes up incase the situation comes to worst. "I'll pay you anything doctor, just..." Words failed him. "We're trying our best-" "I don't need your best doctor! Just save her first please!" He yelled, startling the doctor and his sister beside him. His sister stared at the doctor apologetically, patting her brother's back trying to calm him down. "Thank you doctor." The doctor nodded understandably and walked away.
