Chapter 4

870 Words
A Few Days Later /-Valerie-/ I had officially resigned to my fate. Since it was the goddess’ will for me to die, I was in no position to stop it. My stomach growled, protesting against the hunger it had been sentenced to. I wish it could understand that even if it growled from now to the end of time, it wouldn't change anything. My throat was so dry that it was hurting. Even swallowing saliva occasionally to moist it up didn't help. I had a feeling I would run out of saliva as well. On the first three nights, I shook the bars, screaming and begging them to let me go but no one came. From where I was kept, I couldn't even hear the sound of anyone or anything moving. It was as though I was ostracized from the rest of the world. My eyes were all swollen from crying. I didn't even have any more tears left to shed. Then I heard footsteps. ‘Get up, Valerie. Someone is coming,’ Sylvia chattered in excitement. Bold of her to assume I could move. All she did was chatter in my head all day when she was the reason we were in this mess, to begin with. ‘At some point, you would have to let go of that anger, Val.’ At some point? She was the reason I lost all my dreams and hopes of freedom in one night. Because of her, I was stuck with these blood-sucking monsters. I even got mated to their king! I would possibly resent her forever. Even death was merciful. The light kept getting closer until it stopped in front of my cell. Maybe the Alpha had finally decided what to do with me. Now there was light, I could see my inmates more clearly. I didn't even want to wonder why there were so many of them. I pushed myself off the ground just as the guard got into the cell. I waited for his instructions but instead, he looked at me with that disgusting lust in his eyes. “There you are!” My heart sank to my stomach. What was he doing? He set the lamp aside and marched towards me. He unbuckled his belt immediately and I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me what was happening. I tried to get away from him but my body was too weak from starvation to even move quickly. I crawled backwards. “Stay away from me!” I warned. “I will kill you!” He paused as if he were afraid then burst into laughter. “Kill me? I would love to see you try!” He grabbed me before I could grab anything and pulled down his pants. I tried to look away but he fisted my hair tightly, forcing me to stay in place. When he took out his disgusting manhood, I knew I had to do something. For years, I allowed fate to throw whatever it wanted at me but this… I would rather die than let this monster r**e me. And this time, he would be the one screaming. “Struggling will do you no good, girl. Just calm your wits and enjoy this while you can,” he said pushing it into my mouth. I opened my mouth wide to accommodate his size then bit down on it as hard as I could. His screams reverberated throughout the cell but I didn't let go of it. He tried to push my face backwards while pulling his member out but unfortunately, it was to my advantage because it gave me the required resistance to rip it off. “You crazy b***h!” He screamed, punching me but I refused to let go. He continued punching me over and over again until I was bleeding out but it was satisfying to feel his blood gush into my mouth. On delivering the last floor, I yanked it off with all my might and his screams of agony followed. He dropped to the floor, crouching and whimpering in pain. He was bleeding profusely, but who cares? I grabbed a long bone from one of my inmates and dragged myself to him. “Please…” he pleaded feebly as I kicked him over. The action made me stagger a bit. “Animals like you…” my throat hurt from the talking but I was willing to endure the pain. “Animals like you don't deserve to live. I am going to spare the world the trouble.” Without hesitation, I raised my hand and stabbed him repeatedly. I was so focused on sending the bastard to hell that I didn't hear the approaching footsteps. I stabbed him over and over until I was yanked off him. “What have you done?” The Chief guard exclaimed but I was more focused on the huge man standing before me. Those amber orbs burned like fire each time I stared into them. “He is dead, Alpha,” I heard from behind and I glanced to see them lift him. My gaze returned to Adolfe without any iota of remorse. “Good thing then. Your pack has one less animal.”
