Elizabeth sat at the dining table, quietly enjoying her breakfast when Miguel entered the room. The clinking sound of cutlery paused as she looked up. “Good morning, Liz,” Miguel greeted cautiously. Elizabeth finished chewing, then replied, “Good morning, Miguel.” Her tone was polite, but it was obvious she would rather not talk to him. Miguel could tell she was still mad, but he tried to ignore the obvious. Maybe bringing up the talk might just make it worse.
