Bridget stepped into the corridor, a smile playing on her lips. She was still savoring her conversation with Miguel when she rounded the corner and nearly collided with Laura, who was leaving her office with a file in hand.
"Hello, Laura," Bridget greeted, her tone dripping with exaggerated sweetness.
Laura stopped in her tracks, her eyes narrowing. "What do you want, Bridget?" she asked.
Bridget chuckled, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "Aw, she's salty. I see," she said.
Laura shook her head and tried to step past her, but Bridget moved to block her path.
"Don't be rude," Bridget said sharply. "I'm still talking."
Laura crossed her arms, her voice firm. "Whatever you have to say, I'm not interested. You can keep it to yourself. Now get out of my way," she said.
