Laura sat across from Elizabeth at the cozy restaurant. Elizabeth had suggested that they eat out after spending the day at the mall. Ash sat at a different table behind them.
“So, how’s the job search going?” Elizabeth asked, catching Laura's attention.
Laura sighed, offering a small, weary smile. “Still searching. For now, I’m just doing a little bit of everything—nannying, housekeeping, cleaning. It’s not ideal, but it’s something, you know?”
Elizabeth raised a perfectly arched brow. “Why don’t you ask Miguel to help? I’m sure he could get you a job at Oasis Group if you wanted, but even if you don’t want to work there, he’s got enough influence to get you something anywhere else.”
