LAURA'S FAMILY HOUSE Cole squinted as two large trucks approached from the distance, their heavy tires kicking up dust as they rolled steadily toward the site. He knew what was about to go down. His eyes moved to his men, who were already on alert. “Stay on guard,” he ordered. The trucks came to a stop with a screech, and several men hopped out, immediately moving to offload building materials. A smaller vehicle pulled up behind them, and five thugs emerged, their leader surveying the area with a confident attitude. “Go ahead and offload the materials,” the leader barked, his voice filled with impatience. “Let’s get out of here quickly.” Cole wasted no time.
