Lisa entered Miguel's office, and he gestured for her to take a seat.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting," Miguel said.
Lisa shook her head lightly. "It’s not a problem. Ash was great company," she said.
Miguel gave a small nod but didn’t say anything else. Instead, he leaned back slightly in his chair, waiting for Lisa to explain why she had wanted to see him. But he noticed her gaze drifting around the office, taking in the surroundings.
Her eyes moved over the plaques, the medals, and the framed certificates—evidence of Miguel’s long and decorated military career. She lingered on them, as if absorbing just how much he had achieved.
