Laura rushed out of the office, her mind preoccupied with the thought of the problem that had surfaced in her family again.
She wasn’t paying attention to where she was going and collided with someone in the hallway. Her breath caught when she realized it was Miguel.
"Oh! I'm so sorry," Laura said.
"It's fine. I see you're leaving," Miguel said, his eyes scanning her face.
"Yes," Laura replied, slightly out of breath, trying to shake off the anxiety in her.
"That's great," Miguel said in a casual tone. "I’m leaving too, so we can go together," he added.
Laura couldn’t help but shake her head with a smile. "I knew it was too good to be true. There’s no way you’d just let me move around without your bodyguard unless you had other plans."
