Elizabeth’s eyes slowly fluttered open as she struggled to focus on her surroundings. Her gaze drifted to a familiar figure beside her. Miguel was sitting in the chair next to her bed, with his eyes filled with worry. “Miguel?” she murmured with her voice a mere whisper. “Liz,” Miguel breathed out as his face brightened. “I’m so glad you’re awake.” Elizabeth tried to sit up, but a sharp pain throbbed in her head, forcing her hand to her forehead. “What… what’s going on here?
