Chapter 17

131 Words

Mike woke me up at seven o’clock this morning, playing with the doorbell. One hour and five minutes of sleep—that’s all I got. He had his work gloves and a black lunch box. I let him trim the front bushes while I mainly stretched out in a lawn chair. As a result, I got nothing accomplished on the car. I thought I could take it in for an estimate on a Saturday. No dice, because I did not want Mike to see or know. I’ll have to wait until Monday. I don’t have insurance, so this is going to all be out of pocket. Mike ate lunch, then we played World Series pinball. After he left, I went into the garage to see if it had been a dream.
