THE TRUTH

1110 Words
Where am I and what am I doing here? Aciah asked herself. She walked through a hallway where she was hearing a strange man's voice coming from behind a door. He was yelling at a woman about marrying his true love. The woman refused to drop the subject and replied to him that there was no way the moon goddess would ever allow him to have such a mate. Aciah went to open the door to ask where she was. When she went into the room it was like she was invisible to the young man and elder woman. They continued to argue about true love being forbidden. Neither of them payed her any mind. The man looked much like her grandmother. He stormed out the room and Aciah filled him with curiosity. after walking down the village he came to a house where Aciah watched from a window. A woman wearing a black cloak mixing hurbs in a pot was tending to a sick child. The man kissed her and requested to run off and elope. Ecstatic she said yes and gave the child the remedy from her pot. The child instantly awoke and she whispered some sort of distorted language that aciah couldn't make out. The child realized where he was and yelled out witch over and over again. The couple ran out of the house with only a bag and what they had on. Aciah tried to keep up with them till the man was shot from behind with an arrow through his heart. The woman tried to pull him with her but failed to save him when she realized it was too late he was gone. Aciah was suddenly in a room again with the woman but this time she was older and in labor. She birthed a baby girl who came out with bright red hair and pale blue skin. The mother sobbed thinking her baby was loss forever. She wrapped the baby up and started to sing. The song sounded like the language she spoke previously. Moments later the baby cried and the woman started to get sleepy. Aciah was curious who she was and what did it have to do with her. She suddenly was back at her grandmother's home with the same elder woman who was having a disagreement with the young man. Aciah realized it was her grandmother who was the baby that was born. Understanding more that her grandmother was a wolf and witch she finally had clarity. Aciah listened to the conversations the elder woman and her grandmother talked about. They seemed to be close until she attacked the elder lady. Appalled at what she saw she turned her head. Did her grandmother really just drink the blood from that woman like a vampire? she thought to herself. Aciah was back I her room this time alone with the woman that put her though this journey to the past. She had more questions but the witch only disappeared before she could react to everything she just witnessed. Aciah was furious that she couldn't get all the information she wanted so she summoned the butler to fetch the car for her. Aciah drove to a ran down shack on the outer skirts of town in a deeply wooded area. A witch named Thyra lived there alone for many years but Aciah occasionally ran into her when she was running at night in her wolf form. Three knocks and a door was opened for her to come in. Thyra was in her small dining area reading cards. She softly spoke that she knew Aciah would come. She prepared a meal and a glass of whiskey. Did you think you could suppress your magic for long? we are the oldest of our kind and most powerful. Your lineage goes back to my sister's mother. I am your aunt Aciah and I need you to stay a while. Thyra gently placed her book in the middle of the table to reveal that the spell that was used was indeed to show her the truth from her past. She broke her silence when the coronation had a magical surge of energy hit her from the middle of the forest. Thyra knew she had to get the point across so she sent in a witch from her coven to show Aciah the past and teach her she's more than vampire and Lycan. She wanted to introduce herself properly with out confusing her. Aciah had only known her as a witch who could help her out with card readings occasionally. Thyra wanted her niece to know more about her. Aciah asked for a moment to take in everything. Gulping down the glass of whiskey she slouched back in her chair and let out a sigh. A man appeared at the door and Aciah tensed up. His smell was strong and his aura was powerful like an Alfa wolf. He grinned and turned to Thyra. They hugged briefly. Aciah didn't know why it made her jealous but she couldn't help herself. Thyra and the wolf whispered to one another. You must go now! E will take you to a safe place. My home us under attack and I can not risk you getting hurt yet, not before you learn your potential powers correctly. Thyra pushed them out the back door with a bag of food and essentials. E shifted picking up the bag. He looked at her to shift or jump on his back. Not wanting to undress in front of him she politely accepted a ride on his back. The two of them traveled for an hour before stopping at a cliff. E had crouched down gesturing her to get off of him. When he shifted back Aciah noticed scars all over his body. He walked to the edge of the cliff and climbed down into a cave below that was covered in thick brush. Aciah followed him in the cave but when she entered he was already dressed in a pair of sweat pants making a fire. E didn't speak until he was done heating the food in the can Thyra gave him. He simply gestured for her to come closer to the fire and told Aciah to eat then rest in a stern voice. Aciah didn't feel hungry but she sat near a wall until she fell asleep. He covered her up and carried her to his bed made of straw on top of a large bolder inside the cave. Aciah dreamed of him for what seemed like days. E stayed up watching her sleep the whole night til the first morning light came.
