The solution
Dad was pacing up and down the kitchen,it disturbed my sleep a lot. So I decided to go to him. "hey" I said.
"Baby, did I wake you up?" my dad asked me.
"well,not really,what's wrong dad ?". I asked in confusion.
" don't u worry,I'm just thinking about work and all,you know"he said putting up a fake smile that didn't get to me a bit.
"nah, dad cut it out,I know something's bothering you, something big it's been wearing u down, there are dark circles under your eyes, you come in late at night, you make hushed phone calls!" I yelled.
"Phoebe, I'm sorry" he said looking downcast. "I owe some dangerous men a lotta money and they want it back".
I knew it was something like this. sighing,I asked him." so how much are we talking about?" "my job as a waitress could pay it,I can ask my boss for a loan, its gonna be okay daddy" I rambled on with a smile on my face.
he chuckled. "its 60 billion dollars, baby"
"Jesus,that's.... I trailed off. " how and what for?"
"Is there way I could help u dad?" I asked with fear imminent in my voice.
As I said that it was as if someone lit up something in him.
"yes,phoebe,yes,yes,yes" he beamed.
"okay,so what do I do?"
"My friend,Eddie told me his boss needs a new secretary urgently, their pay is really high"
"okay,I guess that settles it then,I would work for him" I said.
"Thanks a lot, Mija,I know u are a blessing to me" he said while hugging me. Mija is the name he called me since the day my mom died. he said it means my dear, and he would call me that because I look a lot like my late mom.
"Its okay,Papa" I said,smiling at him.
