Link Vs The Black Ranger

Link's POV

"Dressed in black?" I said in my head.

I immediately walked over to them and saw a figure standing in the shadows of the forest.

There was some silence for a few seconds until the figure started walking out of the dark and into the open. The moonlight allowed us to get a better look.

"Black clothes, black hood," I said in my mind. I also saw he had a black bow around him.

He was just standing there stock-still staring straight at me...

He wasn't moving but just staring.

The silence and the sheer unusualness of him started to make me feel uncomfortable. 

"Who the hell are you grim reaper?" Alaan shouted to him. No answer. An empty glare is all he responded with.

"I'm getting a strange aura coming off him Link," said Elvia looking quite concerned. Her eyes seemed a little worried.

This person clearly didn't want to introduce himself so I walked past Alaan and Elvia and into his direction.

"Uhh, sure you wanna do that? That guy just screams 'I wanna break you apart...' " Alaan said to me in a more louder voice. I looked back at him with a neutral expression and turned back to the person.

I carried on walking to him and to my surprise he started walking towards me... It was an open field and the two of us kept on walking closer and closer to each other. It was so silent that I could hear mine and his own footsteps as we approached. I noticed he was about a foot taller than me as we were closing in. Many moments later and we were standing still opposite each other. Nothing but silence ensued as he did nothing but stare at me. A small gust of wind blew past us and at that point, the stranger started to grin. I noticed that and started to speak.

"Who are you and what do you want!" I said in a stern voice.

He stopped grinning and it looked like he was gonna respond.

"....Fight me" he responded in an alarmingly cold voice.

I was quite surprised at his response. I was very confused about where he even came from. "Why does he wanna fight me?. He doesn't even know me" I said in my mind.

"You've just met me and now you're asking for a fight. Why would I want to fight you" replied in a more infuriating voice?

The stranger dressed in black stood there as usual but he started to grin again.

"I'll kill them," he said coldly.

My eyes widened after I heard what came out of his mouth. The sheer coldness of his voice and his emotionless tone shook me for a second. What he said made my expression much more serious and slightly angry and as a result, I stepped closer to him. I was inches away from him.

"Don't want to fight me...

I'll slit their throats" said the stranger.

"Leave them! Don't mention them! You want a fight. Bring it! If I win, your gonna tell me who you are!"I said very coldly.

"....Perfect" he responded. He looked straight into my eyes. His eyes looked like he didn't even have a soul in him. "I know you want this fight too" he added with a grin. He then turned around and started walking back to get ready.

"Huh..." I said to myself but I started to realise my veins pumping in excitement. 

I turned around and headed to Alaan and Elvia. As I was walking back, I noticed their faces. They showed concern.

"Dude, what the hell was all that about. Who is that guy?" Alaan asked with such curiosity.

"Yes Link, what Alaan said. And what does he want with us?" Elvia added.

I looked at them both with a serious expression.

"He wants a fight with me" I replied.

Their faces looked shocked.

"What! That guy wants to fight you! Let me! I'll silence that clown!" Alaan said quite agitated. Elvia stood there.

"Don't! He wants me. But that's good because if he wants me, he's got me!" I say with a slight grin as I stop Alaan from advancing.

Alaan looked at me and then smirked.

"Why do you always get all the action Linkith... You know what, go and finish him off just like everyone else" Alaan said and he gave a strong aggressive fistbump.

"Oh you know I will... I'll find out who that guy is. I think it's important that we know why he's here" I say. I look over to Elvia but she wasn't smiling.

"Link, you sure this is a good idea. We don't know anything about him. For all, we know he could want more than just a fight" Elvia exclaimed.

"Oh Elvss, you haven't seen Link actually fighting at full strength. He's too much" Alaan said. "Elvss?" She said confused. I smiled rubbing the back of my head.

"Don't worry Elvia. I'll be fine. And also, he hasn't really given me any other choice" I replied as I smiled at her and then gestured at her for a fistbump. She smiled and then returned the fistbump calmly and gently. "Good luck. He won't stand a chance!" Elvia said with fierceness in her voice. I turned around and walked back to the open field ready for the battle.

I looked at him and he seemed ready. I made sure my bow and arrows were ready. I stood still and closed my eyes and imagined. This was a trick that allowed me to increase my focus. But that was cut short as I felt a drop of rain hit my face. "It's raining?...

Amazing timing as usual," I said sarcastically in my mind.

A minute passed and we were both ready. Alaan and Elvia were watching from the side.

Alaan's POV

"Link's got this in the bag!" I said. Elvia looked at me. "I'm sure he does. Although I haven't seen Link battle at his full capacity, he seems to be already very skilled" Elvia said.

"Yeah definitely. When he's using a sword, I can mop the floor with him, but when he has his bow, I don't stand a chance. Even the Knights at the castle couldn't come close to beating him" I said rubbing my head. "This guy is not gonna know what will hit him" I added.

"Why did he specifically want to face Link, is what's been bugging me..." she said quietly to herself but I was able to hear her. That fact also intrigued me. We stood there ready to watch the two.

Link's POV

"Ready when you are" I shouted to the stranger in black.

"Come and get me..." he replied. It seemed he wanted me to attack first which is not something I usually do. Nevertheless, I needed to know who he is so I began to start the fight.

I bent down getting ready to dash towards him. I felt the rain start to fall a little faster and as soon as the drop hit my hand I dashed.

I wanted to see how skilled he was so I didn't run too fast. I closed the distance and started with a swipe to the legs. He dodged it. I swiftly transitioned into a flurry of quick attacks. He deflected them. It didn't seem like he was even trying so I decided to attack harder. But before I did, a fist swung at me much faster than I thought. I dodged his punch but immediately after, came a kick at an even faster speed. I dodged both attacks and spread some distance between us.

"So he's skilled, I can tell that much. That speed was incredible, and he didn't even feel like he was trying" I said in my mind.

*SMASH* my face just got punched before I even could react and a strong kick to the gut sent me flying backwards onto the ground rolling. My eyes widened open realising that I got smashed in a few seconds. "What the! How did he?" I said as I got up from the ground. I touched my lip and saw a little blood. My face turned much serious as I wiped it off. "You're not messing around are you..." I said to him.

"Take this seriously. If you won't I'm gonna make you" the stranger coldly said. I was planning on taking it easy as I wanted to find out how he fights, but that wasn't an option now.

I saw him pull out his bow and 3 arrows came flying at me. He was definitely skilled with a bow. I dodged his arrows and to my surprise, he began to strike. He dashed at me and struck a barrage of attacks coming from all directions. Kick, punch, arrow he threw at me. Block after block I dealt stopping him attack after attack. This time I countered with another flurry of attacks and I was fighting seriously. I went for the kick to his midsection and connected. But my eyes lit up as nothing happened. He was supposed to be sent flying backwards but he took it to the gut and barely reacted. I felt my foot connect but he took the impact completely... At that moment I saw his face and he was grinning.

"You really think that's enough to finish me," he said. I backed away to create some distance. I was shocked that this fight had even gotten to this stage. I couldn't remember the last time I was pushed this hard.

I reached for an arrow and shot it. He shot it at the same time. They both connected. Another one after another I shot, each one missing as his ones did. I also noticed the rain started to become heavier. As the droplets of rain bounced off my face, I shot three arrows at once. "This will finish him" I spoke in my head. This time it was different. Two arrows went for him but were smacked away with his bow, however, the last one hit the ground.

Smoke imploded from the arrow causing a vapour cloud of smoke. "This is my chance," I said. The stranger was trapped in the cloud and I took this as a chance for a final blow.

I ran down and shot more arrows at him at different angles. He couldn't see but he managed to almost evade my arrows. 2 of my arrows grazed his left arm and his right leg. I jumped into the air and struck down with an aerial attack with my bow. Slow-motion was all I could see as I was falling down to attack him.

A few moments later a smash was heard and anyone from the outside could guess the outcome...

Unfortunately, it wasn't the one I hoped for.

... He caught my bow mid-air as I tried to strike him from above. He stopped it with his hands and slashed me on my arm with the arrow he had in his hand. "Grr!!" I grunted in pain as I fell to the side. It seems the grazes on his arm and leg didn't faze him. I brushed off my pain and went in for another attack. Our bows collided with each other as we looked into each other's eyes. Rain was pouring down over my face and it wiped away the small amount of blood on my face.

"Who are you...!!" I shouted at him in moderate pain and somewhat fatigued.

He didn't answer me.

I was looking straight into his eyes and he looked soulless.

"Tell me!!" I shouted in a much more aggressive tone.

.....

"It's over..." he said in an emotionless tone.

He twisted his bow to break the grapple and immediately headbutted me right on the forehead.

My head thumped back and I felt slightly dazed. I stepped back but what followed instantaneously was a brutal knee to the gut and a dozen strikes with his arrow to my chest lashing me with dozens of cuts.

I bent over in pain and coughed. I saw some blood fall out of my mouth as I coughed in pain... My vision was slightly faded and I looked up at him and then came a vicious kick to the face.

I fell to the ground gripping my stomach in pain. The stranger bent down to the ground and whispered in my ear.

"...I commend you for doing some damage to me... This must be hard for you huh Link" he said slowly.

My eyes lit open in complete shock.

"H-How do you know my name...who are you... Grr," I said slowly in pain.

"...You'll know soon link, very soon..." he replied in a malicious tone.

My mind was going through so much, I couldn't even think.

"Before I go, I'll have to take that," he said as he reached into my pocket and grabbed my emerald stone.

"No..please..you can't," I said slowly in pain being unable to move.

At this point, the cloud of smoke cleared and all was visible.

"Hey!! What did you do to him!!" Alaan shouted as he and Elvia immediately dashed towards me.

"Also, so you won't follow me," he said coldly as he reached in for an arrow and sinisterly aimed it at my wrist.

***s***h***

"AAAARRHHHH" I screamed in agony and suffering as an arrow went right through my wrist!!

Elvia and Alaan ran immediately to me but when they got there, he was gone...

"AARRRHHHH" I grunted loudly in pain as I tried my best to contain it, but the pain was unbearable...

They both stood there and watched in horror as I layed there beaten and severely wounded on the ground, trailing blood...
