With Dom next to him they made quick work of the pile of wood and grit in front of them. Kiko called Chad’s name and tried not to breathe in too deeply, the dust threatening to choke him. He kicked himself for having gotten caught up in an argument with Dom before finding whether Chad was all right. Dom had pushed his buttons so well this time, though. And watching the loft fall down on him…Just the thought of it made his stomach drop out again. “Chad?” Dom was channeling his anger into something more productive now, at least. Pain shot up Kiko’s arm as he tugged away another piece of wood, driving a splinter deeper into his palm. “Answer me or I’ll tell Kiko you were drinking. Chad.” “Great,” muttered Kiko. “He’s a kid,” said Dom. “Chad!” “So you can tell me what to do but not him?”
