“The princess is dead!”
The soldiers swarming the battlefield cheered for their triumph over Fargelsi, but Tierney’s magic sizzled at her fingertips, responding to the rage and fear she felt for the royals these rebels had slaughtered. She wanted to tear them apart with her magic for daring to destroy the peace the three kingdoms had fought so hard to attain. But her magic was stuck inside her, just out of reach.
Uncle Myles? All her cousins? They must have gotten wind of this battle and her father or uncle had portalled them through the human realm to get back so quickly. It would have taken them an entire day to reach the human realm and then wait for night to open a new portal to Gelsi.
