🖤🩸“I have always wondered what my destiny was. This vampiric witcher believes it’s to bear his pup, and to drink from me.” – Frida King🩸🖤
…
There was this shift in his eyes.
It made me wonder how much he knew. I had embarrassed myself last night. The trauma had a way of getting to me. What was I going to do now?
“7 – 1, I won this round,” Lisa said with a smile. Her first win and she was so elated. Training on the field, I became lost in thought after the King showed up.
“Because I wasn’t focusing,” I let out, and she looked around. “Oh really?” with mockery laced in her tone, she said, “What were you looking at then, the King perhaps because I just saw him now?”
“What no, I wouldn’t dare,” I blurted out.
“There’s no use to hide it, you know,” she said, “I’m aware you like him-“
“No, I don’t,” I said fiercely. “That would be a great offense to me.”
“Huh, what do you mean?” she said, lifting her stick for a ninth round.
“I can’t fall for him,” I said, placing my stick to block hers as she tried to hit me. “He’s not someone my heart can recognize,”
“Hmm,” Lisa said narrowing her eyes and making another move towards my chest. I blocked her, once more. “Will you be offended if I chase him, then?”
She made a counter move towards my feet. I flew from the ground, twirling to the left trying to hit her neck which she dodged placing her stick in front to block me. I guided her to the left which left an opening at her back thus, I hit her making her fall to the floor in defeat.
So this was her plan all along. She wanted power.
“Of course, you can,” I said, with vengeance in my eyes. I was quick to mask it off with a smile, “Go for him,” I added.
“Really? You’re so kind, Frida thanks,” she let out. I extended a hand so she got up from the floor.
“Don’t thank me, this is a game remember so it really depends on what the King wants,” I told her.
She took my hand with an excited expression saying,
“I can’t wait!” she gritted out. Furrowing my brows, I now understood mom’s story. Why did she say people couldn’t be trusted especially friends?
The last draw was at 22-5 and this was because I let her win. As practice ended, Elder Zu summoned me, to his quarters. On his face was some look of admiration as he said, “You train so well, I’d like you to be my apprentice,” he said, making me widen my eyes.
I looked down, even though my Lycan disliked our submission. No, this couldn’t happen.
If I were his apprentice, it would mean he’ll be seeing more of me which I couldn’t afford to have. I had to protect myself.
“Thank you for the offer, Master, it is my deepest honor to serve you,” I said instantly. “But I must inform you that I can’t be your apprentice,”
“Hun?” he let out. “You will dare to forgo a great opportunity like this, do you know I can give you the best tips to win in the competition?”
I faced the ground still, containing my wolf from letting our anger out on him. “I understand, Master, but what would a mere breeder like me know? I was selected by a high rank who wants me, I do not want to go against him or do anything that will make him mad at me,”
“I see,” he let out, pouring tea in his cup and mine extending it to me, “But I must accord your skill child, you should train more,” he added, demonstrating with his index finger as he made his point.
“T-Thank you, Master,” I said, stammering purposely as I took the tea from him bowing down.
I then stared at him, with the intent to make sure he sipped from his before proceeding to take from mine.
I couldn’t help but appreciate the taste of the tea, which was fresh settling in like the morning’s dew. I stared at the cup wondering what type of tea it was.
“Nice tea, eh?”
I nodded at his words, watching him drink his again. And thus, I drank from mine before he said, “I took the ingredients from the Great mountains, I found it as I journeyed here,”
“Good to know, Master,” I let out, replying him.
It was no wonder he was an asset in my Kingdom.
He must have deceived my parents with his creations, making them trust him. I couldn’t deny the part of me that was disappointed.
With this talent, he could have produced a whole lot of this. But look at where he got himself to, in a Kingdom that won’t recognize his potential.
Knowing this, I fished my hands staring at the cup he offered me.
“Are you okay, child?” he let out, asking me.
“Of course, Master!” I braced myself up, saying. “It’s a great honor that you let me taste your tea,”
A laughter rumbled from his chest.
“Good to know, child. You know I’ve started to take a liking to you,” he said. “So many apprentices, I’ve trained so many, but you’re the first one who refused my offer,”
“I’m sorry about that, Master but I hope you do know that it is no intent of mine to dishonor your request. Circumstances made me do,” I said.
“Very well, then,” he said, standing up, walking to a dark clothing on his table. I realized it was the cage from yesterday. “Perhaps you might have an interest in this,”
Staring at him with narrowed eyes, I wondered what he was up to. I stood up, coming along with him with a ready mindset.
To be honest, after the day I heard the shapeshifter chant something about the world ending, it made me a bit worried.
If this dark energy were right, it meant my Kingdom was not safe. And I had to find out more to know what kind of enemy we were fighting.
