🖤🩸“I have always wondered what my destiny was. This vampiric witcher believes it’s to bear his pup, and to drink from me.” – Frida King🩸🖤
…
I wriggled my brows as Elder Zu motioned to the cage’s entrance. At first, I thought he doubled checked it, but once I heard a click sound I was sure.
He released it. My Lycan extended her claws protectively. He was about to avert his head to my direction when I took it back in.
What are you doing? We can’t get noticed.
I told her.
“Watch out!” Elder Zu yelled suddenly, which made me stare in his direction only to see the shape shifter approaching me.
“Huh?” Breeze spun in from the force of the shape shifter running, leaving a gigantic force in the room which darkened.
This made me lose balance about to fall back when I balanced with a duck, somersaulting so I didn’t come to the ground flat.
“The world is coming to an end! All districts will be burnt to the grounds and there will be nothing left!
The royal from the lost Kingdom would bring justice. Justice to all and the fallen nations would rise again!
There would be order to the supernaturals and the Moon Goddess shall be back!”
Elder Zu leaped skilfully and extended his sword to contain the shape shifter, which fell to the ground without being touched by him. I narrowed my eyes, rising from my squat, advancing towards the shape shifter who was still in the bird shape.
I stared at the dark energy slowly whooshing away. There was something strange about its eyes.
Crimson gushed out from them, and the metallic scent hit my nose making me realize it was blood.
Elder Zu lowered his hands to the bird, checking its pulse only to stiffen.
“No,” he let out, “This was my only way to get it, now it’s gone. What do I do now?”
A sob escaped his lips, only for me to pat his shoulder.
“Accept my sympathies, Master,” with my mind deep in thought on what really went on, I let out.
“It’s okay child,” he murmured before placing his sword back in place. He walked out of his room, lifting the creature in his hands with a sad look on his face.
I furrowed my brows following him discreetly as he went out the door, closing the door behind me.
Pacing my steps in the corridors, I watched him at a distance as he dug the soil to place the bird inside.
Strange.
He still had his humanity. Had I judged him wrongly? Perhaps, he hadn’t betrayed my parents and was here to find them too. What were the chances?
No. I shouldn’t let emotions get the best of me. I had to focus on what I had to do.
With these, I walked to my room to think since it’d probably be empty by now.
The girls were currently in practice which would give me enough time to reflect on everything.
…
The sooner I got to the room; I shut the door sitting on my door in wonder. The shape shifter had bled. Familiar. Where did I see someone bleed?
Think Frida, think.
Flashbacks spun my head instantly, with a glimpse of Nynaeve. Her rituals and chants.
The room was in the same current, darkening as I yelled hard, in agony. And, blood spilling from her eyes, mouth, and ears. I recalled this with the shape shifter too.
The only difference was that Nynaeve didn’t pass away afterward. “I still spoke to her afterwards and still communicate through the spirit link,”
Could it be that…. the shape shifter was a different breed? Nynaeve was an original witch so she was stronger than the bird.
“This was why she survived,” I let out, in realization a bit elated only to discover I had not yet found out the meaning of the words the shape shifter said.
“A royal,” I muttered, trying to figure out the justice part. What lost Kingdom?
I recalled Mom telling me something about the Moon Goddess turning against them. Did this have something to do with it?
“I have to do my research,” I muttered.
“What research?” someone said, making my direction avert to them. I furrowed my eyes on seeing King Draco. He had a look of curiosity on his face.
“My King,” I said, standing up from my sit staring at him in wonder at what he was doing here. These days he showed up out of the blue.
“Didn’t expect me?” he said with a smirk, before bringing his hands towards my hair.
This made me flatter on the spot, staring at his dark eyes before looking down.
“N-No, I-“
“Was lost in thought,” I let out adding with a smile, “I have a lot to research especially since I’m now training,”
“I see,” he let out, hand on chin before extending his hands to mine, “You’re quite fascinating, Lady Frida,”
“Since when did you begin to accord me with such respect, my King?” I let out, staring at the ground.
“Look at me,” he muttered.
My gaze extended up, in relief with my Lycan elated. We were really tired of bowing to everyone, especially people we were higher than in rank.
“Better,” he let out, “Much better,”
“Than hurricanes and leprosy,” I blurted only to get a questionable glance from him.
“Sorry?”
“I mean-“ Lost in words, I thought of something else to say. “I was going in synch with you, to be sure we agree,”
“Hmm,” he said, making my eyes roam. I had to be careful so I wouldn’t get figured out. What was I doing?
It seemed like I was careful with everyone.
But with him… It was different.
“As much as I’d like to believe that I don’t,” he said, making me stare at him in alarm.
“Why don’t you, my King?”
“I just found out something unsettling, that makes us one,” he said. “And through my findings, there is no way a high rank hybrid is paired to a lower rank, so what are you hiding, Lady Frida?”
Hold on, did he know?
There was no way he found out already. Could it be my imagination, or did he already know we are mates?
