Chapter 16 Friday JOSH AND JAKE followed Daniel from the café and stood for a moment on the sidewalk. “I don’t see your truck, Daniel,” Josh said. “It’s only a couple of blocks, so I walked to the café,” Daniel said. “Are you up to walking a couple of blocks, Jake?” Josh said. “Sure,” Jake said. Daniel led them down the street to his office, and unlocked the door. “Come right in guys, and I’ll have a look at those injuries.” They followed him into an examination room, and he told Jake to shed his clothes and climb up on the table. “Give me a minute to start the generator,” Daniel said, and left the room for a moment. He returned a few minutes later, and turned on the lights. “Now I can take a proper look at Josh’s handiwork.” Daniel removed the dressing from Jake’s gunshot wound
