Chapter 29
Monday
JOSH AND JAKE had devoted most of Saturday to cleaning the house and mowing the yard, and they’d spent a lazy Sunday in and out of the pool. They slept a little later Monday morning than they’d planned, but were finally heading down the driveway in one of the vans.
“Are we going to stop by the warehouse?” Jake said.
“Yeah,” Josh said. “It’s always good to let someone know where we’re headed, and Claire is the one who keeps track of scroungers.”
A few minutes later, Josh pulled the van up beside the loading dock at the warehouse. He and Jake got out of the van and went inside the warehouse, followed by Rex.
