Chapter 33
Monday
EVERYONE RETURNED TO the house, where Josh and Jake took a nice hot shower, after which they dressed in clean clothes and went into the kitchen. The brothers, obviously freshly scrubbed and dressed, wandered into the kitchen a few minutes later.
“Are you guys hungry?” Josh said.
“Yes, Sir,” Caleb said.
“Would you rather have leftovers from lunch or a piece of pie?”
“But that pie is yours,” Caleb said.
“We can have pie every day if we want to,” Jake said. “It’s a special treat for the two of you, so take advantage of it.”
“Okay,” Caleb said, “and thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Josh said.
He turned to the refrigerator, retrieved the two slices of apple pie, and set them on the kitchen island.
“Here’s some silverware,”Jake said, and placed a fork beside each plate.
