Chapter three[Run!!]

Giana's POV

"Mate?" I heard the Alpha voice out in a shocking yet known tone

Everyone gasped including me, I watched Adriana's eyes widened as she looked confused, her eyes moved from her parents to the Alpha then back at me

"What is the issue Alpha?" Chancellor Bath asked

The Alpha stood quiet for a moment unmoving with his eyes locked on mine. As I stood I could feel a wave of heat surge through me, I didn't know why but I could feel his gaze drawing me in, I placed my hand on my chest trying to calm my beating heart.

"Alpha, can you hear us?" This time lady Jane moved forward but before she could touch him he moved back

"She is the one" this was the only word that left his mouth as he points at me

All eyes were now on me, my legs and every part of my body shook so badly my vision doubled and I could swear it became hard to breathe. I hated the stares, as I looked up and around I saw all eyes on me. Some of jealousy, some anger, some pity , some hate, some were shocked but in all of them I was more consumed by his gaze it made me feel small yet powerful.

"No" I heard Adriana scream out, she shook her head. " No that's not possible, Alpha what do you mean?" She asked in a shaky voice as if she knew what he meant but refused to accept it

All eyes were on him, I watch him take in a deep breath

"She is my Mate" he said it sternly like it was a final verdict

Whispers and murmur's erupted around the crowd, some gasped, some hissed it was obvious shock and disgusts were written all over their faces.

Chancellor Bath stepped forward I could see the sweat on the side of his head. He seemed agitated, shocked and pissed.

"Alpha" he starts," I'm sure there is a mistake, surely you can't be mate with a...." His eyes met mine," with a low life, wolf-less orphan" he said the last part so loud reminding me of where I belonged

I shuddered

I hated the way Alpha stared at me, it was a mixture of disgust and shock.

"Yes, my husband is right let's try this again" lady Jane suggested still refusing to believe

I watched lady Jane move closer to me as she grabbed my hand, I hissed as she mercilessly used the knife to cut me as my blood dropped in the sacred bowl, and soon the Alpha followed and Adriana did the same. But even now it was still the same thing, this time it was stronger and I know he felt it with the way he stared at me, I felt the pull so much that it made me thirsty and breathless.

"NO" Adriana screamed like a mad person." No,no no no no. I refuse, he is mine and I should be the Luna not you" she yelled as she launched at me pulling my hair making me scream and hiss in pain.

I tried to fight but she was stronger than me, hot tears blurred my vision as she hit me on the head. I hated the fact I was weak, I hated how she hurt me and no one tried to stop her not even my mate. As she kept hitting me my eyes landed on his begging to be saved, even in that chaotic moment I noticed how stunned he was as if he couldn't believe I was his. But in the next moment I saw him moving closer to us and soon I blacked out.

I woke up to the sound of a ticking clock as I opened my eyes it was a bit blurry and dark, once my vision adjusted I tried to sit up. I noticed I was in a very big room and on a king size bed , as I looked around my eyes focused on the beautiful burgundy color on the wall, the room was decorated in a luxurious way. I hissed as I tried to moved then noticed an IV connected to my hand, I gently removed it and tried to stand up I felt the cold from the cold tiles slip into my skin making me shiver.

Suddenly the door opened making me step back a bit, I watched a lady with a tray filled with fruit walking closer. As she saw me she smiled

"Oh, you are awake" she said as she dropped the fruit tray on the table

I looked at her not knowing what to say, I was still trying to remember what happened or how I got here but I couldn't it was all fuzzy

"I'm sure you have so many questions but I'm glad you are well rested but surely you would need some juice in ya, please have a sit Luna"

Immediately she called me Luna my eyes widened and suddenly jolts of memories surged through my mind. I groaned as I held my head, it was painful and to much.

"Luna?" She called out as she knelt closer to me and held my hand." Are you okay? Is something the matter?" Her voice was filled with worry yet i didn't answer her I was too stunned to speak. "I think it's best I get the doctor"

She stood up to leave but I held her hand

"Wait" she looked at me. " where am I?" I had so many questions on my mind but this was the first, I obviously just remembered all that happened and I won't lie I'm a bit shaken up, she noticed my shaky hands and brought the fruit tray closer

"I know what happened a while ago was shocking but you are safe now and as for where you are, you are at the palace and at the Luna's chamber which you would reside in till your marriage before you are moved to the Alpha's chambers"

I took in a deep breath, I was still in shock on everything and trying to take it all in

"Luna are yo...."

"Don't call me that" I warned but my voice was low

She was stunned. " I'm sorry if I offended you Luna" I glared at her she then looked down. " I know it's not my place but many wish to be Luna and by the looks of things I can see you don't why?"

"I....." I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out, even I didn't know why or was it that I didn't know why or the why's were to much?

It was certain that deep down I was so afraid, I felt so much fear and I believed I would fail everyone, I believed I'm not worthy of being Luna. I was an orphan, a wolf less and poor soul with no power to support or back me in the sacred courts how was I supposed to be Luna?

I remembered according to history the 4th Luna was poisoned and to weak especially since she had no back up. How sure I'm that I won't die? No I really have to leave this place.

"Can you please take me to my aunt Gia?" I could see the hesitation in her eyes but she gave in.

Now in the room with my aunt, as she saw me she rushed to me and hugged me.

"Oh Giana, my poor beautiful baby" she gushed as she touched my face, she was in tears. "My baby is the Luna, I told you the moon goddess had something good In stored for you" she smiled but it never reached her eyes

I could see it, she was worried

"Is it really a good thing or the road to my death?" I questioned making her turn her back

I watched her shoulders rise, she looked tensed as if she was thinking about something then I watch her open a big bag as she opened the drawers and threw my cloths in.

"A...aunty what are you doing?" I asked even though I knew what she was doing I wanted to confirm from her, I just need a sense of reasoning to know what I was thinking wasn't a bad idea.

She zipped it

"Giana, of cause I understand you and believe me I know you are scared I'm too" she cleaned my tears. "Honey that's why you are gonna run, I will help you out, let's go"

She grabbed my hand with the bag in her other hand as we moved. I noticed she followed a different route which I just came to know that it's hidden and only few knew about it, it was there mainly during war periods for escape and hide out. It was so easy we didn't even see any guards.

We were now close to the boarders, she removed a white Moon Sigil and handed it over to me

"This is the key to open the portal to the human world, take it and leave"

"What are you doing in?" I asked to afraid to hear her next word

"I will stay, you have to leave if we leave together it would be to obvious and if caught we would both be punished. So take it and be strong even if you are confused about the human ways but surely you have learned a lot in class to know about their world. So take it I will distract the guards as I do so you need to be quick place the Sigil at the middle open it and run and do not look back"

I shook my head as more tears poured out, I was so scared and couldn't bare to leave her. "I can't"

"You can and you will" she hugged me," I love you Giana"

She moved away from me. "Go now"

Hesitatingly I ran trying my best to ignore the roars from behind, I could hear bones cracking she was changing and trying to distract them as she ran to the other side.

As I lifted my hand to place the Sigil I heard a terrifying roar that shook me.

"Going somewhere mate?" I recognized that deep cold voice

As I shuddered in fear, I turned to see who it was

It was none other than the Alpha as he stood with a dangerous smile.

"You can't runaway from me, you just made a big mistake" that was the last words i heard

And something deep in me shook, it terrified me and I knew that very moment that the danger and heart wrenching pain that awaits me was more, and then I blacked out.
