Giana's POV I stood in the garden as I continued to water the plants, I could feel the cold breeze brush passed my rosy cheeks, I shivered a little because it was quite windy, the moon shined brightly unlike before, it was as if it was speaking unsaid and sacred words. I scrunched down as I noticed a red rose which was bent, I sighed as I stretched my hand to touch it "Poor thing" I whispered," Are you in pain just like me? Or has your life been shackled since your existence?" I shook my head, as crazy at its sounds I was talking to a plant and that just sums up to how lonely I'm. As I tried lifting it up the tons from the rose pricked my fingers, I hissed as I watch a little blood spill out. I proceed to put my fingers in my mouth as I lick the blood hoping it would stop. "Giana" I heard a voice call my name from a distance I turned to see Vivian approaching me. "What are you still doing here?" She asked, slightly out of breath I shrugged,"Just watering the plants" "Come on let's go it's preparations for the full moon festival and we need to make sure lady Adriana is well dressed. Others have started preparing and we also need you in the kitchen" she said as she grabbed my hand "Wait I need to take the jug" "Oh forget it " she rolled her eyes as she pulled me inside the mansion. I was so occupied all through that I forgot what today was, I forgot that today was the preparation and transition for 'The Full Moon Festival" which was one of the most vital thing to exist. This full moon is unlike the rest, this full moon comes in color red and it only happens once every 10 years, this is also a means of alliances. Meaning all the four tribes of the wolf kingdoms will all come together and for the first time in a long time "The White Moon" which is our kingdom has been selected to host it this year. This festivals are when some get's their wolf, a coming of age and the most importantly a mate-some are lucky enough to get their mate. I lazily followed Vivian as we continued to walk inside I noticed how busy everyone was, the mansion was being decorated both on the inside and outside. The candles, the flowers, the dishes everything was perfect. As we got inside the kitchen, I could see so many dishes being set and prepared. "Oh thank God you both are here" My Aunt Gia exclaimed as she saw us." What have you both been doing especially you Giana?" She asked as she watched me closely I was about speaking but she beat me to it "You know what forget it, just come and help out" she pushed some cabbages in a basin towards me. "cut it all perfectly while Vivian would help out with baking" We both nod and begin to do what we were taxed on. By the time we were done I was so exhausted, I lazily dragged myself through the hallway then opened the door and got in. My aunt and I shared a room, I turned as I hear the door open it seems like she just came from the bath house. She gently used the towel to clean her hair but strangely she kept on staring at me. I felt weirded out, "Okay why the continuous stare?" I asked feeling uncomfortable yet curious She smiled as she walked closer "I can't believe you are twenty today, it just reminded me of how little you were back then" she said as her eyes watered I never forgot that I was an orphan, according to my aunt her elder sister which was my mom and my father died in a fire incident and my aunt saved me and have been taking care of me since then and we have been working at the counselor's house since. I didn't respond to her words but deep down my mood was soured, I felt a dull ache in my heart each time I remembered that I was not only an orphan but wolf less, what good was it? As I looked at the mirror and removed the scarf I used to cover my neck I felt so disgusted as my eyes landed on the hideous reddish mark on my neck. "Don't look at me like that" I said slightly angry as my eyes met my aunt's I could see that pity look in her eyes and I hated it "Giana" she starts as she gently touched my shoulders,"You should know you are beautiful, every part of you" she added the last part definitely about my mark I gently pushed her hands away,slightly pissed "It's easier for you to say when you are not the one who is an orphan, a weak wolf-less female and the one with a hideous mark which everyone mocks me about" my voice cracked at the last part, I hated being this way."I might never have a mate" She sighed as if she didn't know what to say "Oh Giana " she cooed," Sooner or later your wolf would surely show itself I'm sure there is a reason she hasn't yet, surely the moon goddess never makes mistakes and has a plan for you" "That's what you have been saying since my coming of age and now look I'm still wolf less and with no mate" "If it makes you feel better I still haven't found my mate and I'm in my late forties "she laughed, that seemed to lighten up my mood a bit She pulled me into a hug, though I still felt sad and helpless but it felt good and warm knowing I still had her, I had someone who loves me. Soon we heard the loud bell and talking drums, that was a sign that guests from other kingdoms has started arriving. "You should start preparing, I'm sure lady Adriana would call for you soon" I nod as I stepped outside, for a reason despite the weather being cold or windy I just needed some air, as I walked towards Lady Adriana's chamber I met Vivian, Grace and Theresa walking in with some cloths. We all entered her room. She was still smiling staring at the dresses they brought in until her eyes landed on mine. "Oh, it's you Giana" she said as her face scrunched up to disgust as her eyes landed on my neck Immediately my hand went up to my neck, I felt small and embarrassed. Because I was in a hurry I forgot to cover it up "I told you to always cover that up when you are around me, it's disgusting you low life" she sneered glaring at me I looked down as tears gathered in my eyes ,I couldn't see the girls but I was sure they were staring because I felt their gaze on me I watched Adriana sit down as she faced the mirror the girls started combing her hair and applying her make up while I stood behind. Once they were done she stood up and twirled, caressing the soft material of the dress, the blue dress matched her olive skin as her long dark hair cascade below matching her dark eyes. "Do you think this is good?" She asked the girls as they nod." I'm not sure I feel like it's not extra and something is missing, you know today is a big day and I have a deep feeling I would get my mate today" she blushed "I heard that the Alpha is returning to the pack after 10 years of being absent and on a sacred mission" Grace said out loud as the rest gasped including me except Adriana it was as if she knew, obviously she would besides her father is the chancellor "Yes" Theresa sounds excited. "My lady I'm very sure you are the Alpha's mate" I watched Adriana's face lighten up, she loved all the praises "Of cause it could only be me" she said in a thick voice filled with confidence as she continues to look at her figure in the mirror."But is this dress good on me?" She asked still feeling unsure "Yes my lady, you are so beautiful just like the moon" I said in a low tone She smiled but once she noticed it was me she frowned "Of cause I'm beautiful, it's something you can never be" she boasts as she glared at me, her words seemed to pierce through my heart but I had no right to say anything. "And what are you still doing here? Didn't I tell you to go cover up that hideous mark? Get lost" she yelled at me Vivian looked at me with pity as I walked out. I felt so much pain as I continued to walk to the garden, my eyes was blurred with tears, heart heavy from pain. Suddenly I tripped, a little yelp left my mouth but before I could meet the ground I felt a warm hand holding me. I could feel the warm embrace as if it protected me from this world, I gasped as my eyes landed on the figure it was a male, as I adjusted myself and stood properly I noticed he had the most beautiful emerald eyes, he was tall and had strange drawings on his body, he was the definition of an Adonis a god on earth. "I....I'm sorry" I stuttered, my voice barely a whisper and lost for words "Alpha Killian?" I heard a voice called out from a distance, I recognized that voice it belonged to the chancellor's wife lady Jane. My eyes widened, my breath hitched as I shuddered then looked back at him This man standing before me, was an Alpha? The Alpha Killian of our pack?.
