Chapter 14

Chapter 14 (Unknown POV) “Damn it!” I screamed as I got back to base. Tossing a chair across the room. I had to see Ava for myself, the spies I had in place told me they weren’t sure what the real relationship between Alpha Wolf and Ava was, but that they acted as if they were mates. I had slipped through their defensives by teleporting into Ava’s room, but when she came out of the bathroom, I couldn’t get out it was like a force was grounding me, so I had to go out the window. Once I was on the ground however, I was able to use my powers again. The perks of being a demon, is I was able to come and go as I pleased, rarely having to use normal means of transportation. While I had been in her room, I could smell that someone had been intimate in the room only a few hours before hand. If Ava and the Alpha were indeed mates, I needed to speed up my plan. I had found an alternative in the last couple months since she came out of the coma, the only thing was getting close enough to her to implement my plane. Initially, I was going to give her a potion to make her think that I was her mate. And it would have gone well. Deciding that since I had just gotten myself out of a sticky situation with no problems, I was feeling confident that I would be able to pull off sneaking into Alpha Dagon’s pack undetected. Next to him, Alpha Wolf had the next strongest pack and I had been able to get in and out undetected. Taking a deep breath, I let it out before closing my eyes and picturing the packhouse in my mind. When I opened my eyes, I was standing in the garden of the Blue Moon packhouse. As quietly as I could, I walked towards the window I knew was Luna Natalia’s office. I had spies everywhere, disgruntled wolves that felt cheated of something and was willing to betray their Alpha’s. When, I got closer to the window I knew I need I crouched down underneath when I saw it was open. I had to contain my anger when I heard the Alpha was in there with her. But then I had to smile, when I realized what they were talking about. Listening closely, I tried to hear everything they said. “I felt it again.” Natalia said to Xavier. “The surge in power?” “Yes, Xavier, I know she’s alive. The prophecies said she would be the most powerful of our kind. With unimaginable powers. Wherever she is I don’t think she realizes who she is.” I heard Xavier walk closer to the window, so I crouched down even further, bringing forward my ability to make myself invisible. “If what you say is true, I will do everything in my power to find her.” “What if Luis has her?” My breathing stopped when I heard Natalia say my name. I hadn’t made it completely obvious that I had been the one to kidnap their child shortly after she had been born. “There is a strong possibility that he does, we’ve always suspected that he was the one who took her. But we always assumed he killed her trying to get back at us for mating.” “I wish he could have understood, that I couldn’t turn away from the mate bond, yes I loved him but I love you more. We had been friends for so long before meeting again and realizing we were mates.” I felt like something was sitting on my chest, not wanting to get caught as my emotions threatened to overtake me, I quickly closed my eyes and pictured my sanctuary. When I opened them again, I was sitting on the floor of the one place that seemed to calm me. Taking a couple deep breaths and letting them out I stood and walked out of the room in search of my second in command, it was time to set the next phase of my plan in motion.
