“What?” I stared open mouthed at her, only remembering to shut it when a bitter smile crossed her face.
“Yes,” she continued, “I was shocked when I saw her at first and though I’m not proud to admit it, I lost my temper a few times and hit her. It felt like a way to relieve myself of the pain I’d been constantly experiencing since her betrayal.”
