His golden eyes stared intensely at me as he waited for my answer. Was it just me or were they a lot brighter today? His voice sounded different too. Deeper.
“We got here as fast as we could.” I explained. I didn’t want to get Lucas in trouble. “Us talking has nothing to do with it.”
“Nothing to do with it?” He scowled harder. “Do you even realize the situation you’re in right now? I gave my word to the council members that I would train you in order to prevent you from being asked to leave. Do you think that’s something to laugh about?”
“Just let me go then!” My eyes stung with unshed tears. I couldn’t even talk to anyone now? I would rather leave if this was how he would hold this over my head every time. “Isn’t that what you want anyway?”
