“So what happened next?”I asked as we walked hand in hand. Elena had insisted on coming along on my nightly patrol of the pack borders but her tale of how she’d spent the day made it feel less like work and more like a relaxing stroll.
I didn’t mind though.
I traced circles lightly on her hand, “Did she let you see it?”
“She did,” she replied softly, smiling up at me, “I guess she decided to trust me after all.”
“A wise decision,” I said lightly as I watched her quietly.
