Chapter 21 Two hours later we were all seated at the long table in the formal dining room. I knew my grandmother rarely used this room, usually choosing to eat en famille with Marie in the kitchen, but the size of our dinner party demanded it. I’d taken another shower, quicker this time, and let down my hair. It had dried into thick waves, thanks to my braids. As long as it didn’t rain and I didn’t run a brush through it, I figured it just might behave itself through the evening. I sat at my grandmother’s left, with Alec and Marie on my side, and Mialloch, Amber and Claire across from us.
